I can't believe Dzeko's Brownie Points has been locked, I was thinking of lots of puns and witty comments that cannot be used now.

Gutted.

Can't you put them in this thread instead?

He's done very well as an impact player when we are forcing the play but I don't think he does so well when we are trying to control the game.

He's an out-and-out front man for me, scores goals when given the number 1 attacking role. He isn't going to get that whilst we have 3 other quality strikers, Mancini has a different view of things.

A point of note, I seem to remember Dzeko's amazing start last season until Aguero stated that he should be getting more game time.

where's Sideshow Bob with his "Dzonkey" taunts today?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

I've been guilty of having a pop at dzeko in the past, but god he's in fine form right now. Playing out of his skin.

Is it just me or does he actually score the first goal while being turned away from the goal?
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Wasn't happy with the super sub label in his post game interview. He wants to start.

Don't want to piss on his parade as I think he should be starting ahead of balo in ANY away game, in every league game and now that we pretty much need to win our last 4 CL games in all of those aswell and balo can have the FA cup away games, but I digress. He needs to be realistic and accept the fact that tevez and aguero are better than him and just fit our MO better. Then make sure when he gets the start because they will come with our packed schedule he does the same thing for 90 minutes as he does for the last 10 today.

You have a point re Aguero and Tevez beign ahead of him but no fuckign way on earth should Balo get in ahead of him..in any match.Id take Dzeko over balo any day of the week...hes a far better goal scorer and proves it every time hes on the pitch.

I think Bob was intending to start him against Ajax, and just making sure he didn't overuse the big guy today. At least I hope so. I'm fairly sure he's already played his way into Bob's plans. (You never know with that stubborn bugger though, God love him)

Hope he teams him with Tevez and Aguero vs Ajax with Tevez dropping deepest to fill in for Silva. Ive had it with Nasri.

And I am fairly certain he got pushed into that header for the first.

Can we let Palus back in now?

I think its worth saying that when we start with Dzeko, we set up to play tippy tappy Silva/Aguero/Yaya/Tevez style football.

Dzeko is a fish out of water when we play like that.

later in the game, when the long balls are flying forward, the desperation apparent, and crosses start flying in, Dzeko enters the fray and low and behold, he scores.

I wonder how many of his goals are after 60 mins?

Play to his strengths and we get a lot more out of him, but probably negate Aguero/Tevez.......

I think the trick is to keep mixing it up, no 1 striker will be 100% happy but none will want to leave as long as they are treated fairly.
