Micah in for Lescott and Bob's yr uncle !

Presumably based on how badly Lescott defended v WBA but how much better Micah was against the same players ? Except he was much worse & was beaten by Lescott in a sprint in the same game (as was Yaya) but who gives a fuck about effort ? Drop him.

Not only on the WBA match but quite a few of late. Micah was tremendous as CB against Sunderland and I cannot see why he cannot do that against Ajax. Plus with Micah in the side we are much more threatening with corner kicks !

There was actually yes. Why, it was Lescott.

A mere 20/30 seconds later, after this 80 yard sprint, he was trying to stop Fortune, who ran past him surprisingly easily, but it was ok, as Richards was between him & our goal in a perfect position to stop the cross, except he didn't even raise a foot to try & cut it out, just let it go, straight into our 6 yard box, where several other City defenders stood & watched as it sailed accross, waiting for a tap in.

But of course, Lescott was beaten in this instance, so it was all his fucking fault, the whole fucking lot wsa down to him not stopping Fortune, on his own, after just legging 80 fucking yards down the pitch.


How about a different idea. How about playing our strongest side for a few games & seeing if it learns to tighten up ? How about not dropping Lescott v Bayern Munich or Real Madrid & getting pasted, & just putting our fucking Champion, best in the country, central defence out for a few games, even if we lose, to give them chance to get their act together as a pair instead of randomly fuck arsing about & getting skinned alive anyway ?

Was that the bit where Lescott was basically right back and was beaten to the line, obviously on his wrong side? The commentator on MOTD criticised him for it, which I thought was harsh considering the run and then he was on completely the wrong side. One thing I think we can all agree on is that he's not right footed

The defence has been dodgy all season - perhaps sticking with the same centre halves for a few games might improve things. I don't like swapping full backs, but in the centre is just madness. However, Mancini doesn't seem to rate Lescott in European games

Not totally convinced he'll start Dzeko. Of course he maywell do so & must be tempted & Edin has earned it, but if we have a player who comes off the bench & wins us games, why not let him do it tonight if needed ?

That's Lescott's biggest strength & weakness. He does the defending, even if it's not his job or even if he can't possibly win the ball; he tries anyway. Some defenders just go 'oh well that's fucked' & stand there looking calm & collected as the ball hits the net, Lescott will scramble slide, sweat, strain, grimace, fart & basically make a twat out of himself trying to do something about it, even if he has no chance. Occasionally, as on Saturday, it saves us from losing the game, as his clumsy but effective last ditch efforts most certainly did v WBA.

There doesn't exist a centre back in the Prem who will stop Fortune in a 10 yard sprint. If one arrives who is also calm & great in the air too, we can replace Lescott with him. Until such a player comes to our attention, I wish people would just shut the fuck up about him. We don't have a better alternative & are nowhere near finding one.
