What can you say? We finish with 4 strikers and we pass the ball around in our half as if we've got all the time in the world. Apart from Nasri and Milner, none of our players showed any guts or determination. Was it a hangover from the weekend playing with 10 men, I don't know.

However, looking at how we've played in Europe as a whole it actually looks like we're not really interested, which I'm sure I'm wrong, but it does seem that they've been told (whether in training or not) that it isn't a priority and to conserve energy. What else can explain it, it's nearly been every game.

The subs were strange for me as well. Apart from Lescott (who had a 'mare) it was quite obvious that Yaya wasn't in the game. Barry came off and then the best player on the pitch, Milner. What is the point of putting 4 strikers on if you can't get the ball to them, where is the sense in it?

As you can tell, tonight has given me more questions than answers. I'm totally befuddled by our tactics and further substitutions, it's just too amazing to comprehend. No energy, no determination, no pride.

I'm lost for words, only because it actually looks like we are saving ourselves for the weekend. We can't be, surely we want to show some pride in Europe, not limp out like we have?

Numb.

Doug I am with you, do not feel that bothered, look at Dortmund bad bad in the champions league and now 3 yrs on finding the tempo and the change in style. We are Vigins and need to learn. Get yer heads up, looking at it we are never gonna win it or get much further. Lessons to be learned as we have shipped 7 goals arsing about with the team. To be honest we got away with against Dortmund and tonite we were poor.

City are shit. Have been all season and pre season for that matter. 3-5-2 doesn't work. Mancini is too stubborn and puts his own pride before the good of city. Dzeko can fuck off back to the bench. Balo can fuck off back to Italy. Who ever made the decision not to spend money has fucked our season up in 2 ways a) the players don't give a fuck because there is NO competition for places. Kompany, nasri and balo have not deserved a place in our team this season ONCE but know they will play anyway and B) we are fucking shit. Van persie, hazard and a CB (not a kid) would of had us top of the league and probably 7 points minimum in the CL right now.

Fuck me Micah, did you not take heed when Joe made his comments. You've just done exactly the same.

That was another occasion where Mancini was just about the worst manager in the world. If you paid someone to make sure e lose the game, they couldn't have done a better job than Bob did after that 2nd goal.

Up until then, I don't blame him at all. The players were all in 2nd gear against a very average side & at half time, he clearly got them moving & we were the side who looked like winning. The goal was a mess, but in the Prem, we would just carry on doing what we were doing & possibly win it.

Neville on commentary fell marginally short of saying 'what the fuck is going on ?' when the changes came. He knew we were still well & truly in that game at 1-2.

If I had masterminded that, I would offer my resignation; it was a disgrace.

We have just lost to a vastly inferior team & not only that, Mancini has potentially inflicted more psychological damage on his own team than 1000 Ferguson mind games. This team came back with ten men on Saturday but he can't give them the chance to try & do it; he has to win it with his tactics. Those same tactics which have been torn apart every time he has used them.

I was in Holland last week & had some work rescheduled or I would have been at that gam,e as a Dutch mate (ex pro footballer/Ajax fan) had a ticket for me. He KNOWS City are a better side than Ajax and expected to get hammered twice.

That's exactly what should have happened. If we'd lost 2-1 after a sensible attempt to get back in, I'd be moaning at the players.

What Mancini added to that disaster was as bad as it gets as a manager; total meltdown. His head seems to go in European games & he seems to lose control. It brings into question the events at Bayern last season.

I'm so fucking glad I wasn't there tonight.

Some of us have spotted it in the last few seasons but Tyler made the comment tonight about how he seems to only be a powerhouse in some games & runs out of fuel in others. His worst games are always in Europe imo.

Wow... um what a shocker.

Absolutely mares from both our CB's.

What on Earth has happened to Vince, backing off simple challenges when the Komps of last season (and every season before that) would have attacked the ball and won the ball.. When did our colossus turn into a timid school girl??

A very worrying dip in form indeed from our Captain but a dip Mancini should be managing. Clearly from his comments yesterday Kompany thinks he is in tip top form when clearly he isn't.

Step up Mancini and do your job. Manage this.

As for Lescott... his tin man esk defending in Europe is just down to being utterly pap ball to feet. It's unfixable.

If Lescott is nearing the end of his deal with us, I think we should look to move him on in the summer. He is out of his depth against the ball playing sides in the chumps league and is hitting the wrong side of 30 now. Time to say thanks for the memories and get a world class CB methinks.

What a bad night overall, honestly was convinced we would roll Ajax over. Utterly depressing.

Spot on. Can only remember the away game at Villarreal last season where he was any good. The rest of his performances in Europe have been awful

I've mentioned it many times and put it solely down to his contract. I reckon he's got it in there that if he's fit he's got to play every game which invokes his bonuses. We know he can't hack a rolling 3 games a week so something has to give somewhere, and that's usually midweek.

Could it be that Mancini allows him a comfort that very few other players get.

Would be scary to see yaya under a coach like mourino or ferguson. That strolling around isn't good enough, perform or get off.

He seems to think he is some sort of top playmaker, which he isn't. And if was carrying an injury. Shouldve been off.
