I'm not sure if he struggles to find space early on in matches which is why he isn't as effective when he starts a match - certainly goals against the rags, qpr last season and his goals this season have all come late with quite a few being on the break against a tiring team. I know he doesn't want to be considered a super sub, but surely all successful sides need a game changer on the bench & he's the best we have

He doesn't struggle early on at all. We spend the first 15 mins pussyfooting around. That's not in his nature.

Anyway i've just had a vision that Mario starts tonight, goes into the box , gets fouled. A clear penalty, but Mario gets red carded for a dive !

So on that basis, i guess we'll win three or four to one, with Edin belting a hat trick in !

I have to say I'm really pleased with Edin's work rate. Covering for our full back at times and there was even one situation where Micah went up with another midfielder on the right hand side and when we lost possession it was Edin out of those three who was the one to race back to win the ball (and he wasn't the one closest to the ball).
Keep up this good work rate Dzeko. The scoring chances will come too and then do what you do the best

One touch, scores a goal, we wonder why he falls apart when he has time to think about things?

As a manager, I'd be wondering how I can get that one touch more.

Thing is, at the end of games [when chasing games], we give him the one touch stuff. At the start, we build up in a completely different way which really doesn't suit him.

I suspect he'll start tomorrow and we'll all be slating him on here again.

When you have great players, play to their strengths. If he's coming on from the start, play accordingly.

If you want that, then get Redknapp in as a manager. We have a style of play where we keep the ball and tire the opposition out. If we haven't beat them in 75 minutes, any sub would have an impact, but going more direct to Dzeko works perfectly. If we spend 90 minutes launching balls at him, our entire set up is wrong.

Tonight has proven that we can't play with him for 90 minutes. He affects our style which nullifies him and the rest of the team. So either we change our style; only play Dzeko as a sub or; sell him. We can't keep playing him for 90 minutes and watching it not work.

Why do you get so defensive whenever anyone posts about Dzeko. Where did Ted say that tonight's defeat was Dzeko's fault? He simply stated that we don't play as well as a team when Dzeko is in the side with Aguero. Read the posts properly instead of reading what you want to. Anybody would think you were related to Dzeko. Are you?

here and i dont see how is that bigest problem he play fine but generlly team suck , defence got 3 from i think 5 chances and we talk abaut atack i m defensiv because he is always nb 1 problem if he do not score. And i have wright on opinion here am i ?

We only scored one goal & that was created mainly by defenders and midfielders. Aguero & Dzeko had little to do with it.

someone posted in here that a plausible reason why Dzeko has been a super sub for us is because
when he has been subbed on we've been behind and that means we've been kicking it long
and playing into the style of play that Dzeko succeeds in, whereas when he starts we tend to
do the "Barcelona-esque" style of play that doesn't suit Dzeko.

Not sure if that was the case tonight but it kinda looked like it.
