Bob bottles it again

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Wed Oct 24, 2012 8:55 pm

Everytime we play anybody of note Bob employs his simple tactic of "Let's shit ourselves" The ajax fans in the ground couldn't believe their luck. They expected to get hammered. The only person in the ground who thought we weren't better than them was Mancini. He holds us back and really has to go. Attack you Ittalian shit house. Disgraceful effort again tonight. Bob out. At least we're in one piece

Good on yer Piccs Mate.
I remember your series of similar Mancini out posts last season....about a couple of months before we won the League.
Didn't they follow a similar series of Mancini out posts the previous season...about a couple of months before we won the FA Cup.

Some serious questions for you mate. I know I can trust you to be honest with your answers.

1...Having been vociferous in your condemnation of Hughes and demanding his sacking, how long did you expect it would take Mancini to become the 1st City manager to win our 1st major trophy in over 30 years?
2...How long did you expect it would take Mancini to overtake the long established English clubs and lead us to the premier League title?
3...How long do you think it might take for any manager of your choosing to win the Champions League title?
4...When Mercer led us to our last title in 1968, would you have tolerated him still being in charge at Xmas the following season, having been knocked out of the European Cup in our 1st game and hovering around the relegation zones at the bottom?
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Does this mean we're still going to win the Champions League?

The whole night was crap. The PR man should not be allowing Micah to speak , he is to honest and the wrong man after a game like that. The sale of DE JONG is now a major fuck up for me, as he gave us poise and purpose and a reading of the ganme Vinny looks crap without his mate and YAYA is lost, Barry, god love him can pass for fun but be is out-run out-passed at the same time, Milner works hard and I like him is he gonna scare decent technical player? We are out, lets get out of the Europa ASAP and retain the League.

With or without de Jong we've been equally shite in europe. but otherwise I agree with your assessment of what NDJ brought to the table. hopefully Garcia can learn to master that role for us

De Jong played in Napoli & we conceded two almost identical goals, Cavani unmarked at the edge of our box when he could easily have been stopped but Nige & Yaya failed to cover, then he was unoppsed for a near post header at a set piece when Yaya failed to do his job there.

In Europe, we are shit & our most reliable players, including Nige, have done nothing to solve that.

Regarding Mancini; his comments that he thought the game would be different & prepared for the wrong game, may be a clue to our problems. Stupid corner aside, when we came out 2nd half, we were all over Ajax after he changed us back to normal.

Perhaps just playing our normal game would be more successful than trying to play to ingenious tactical plans ? Whenever Mancini plays tactics v Wenger, we are shit & Arsenal play like a European team. Against Dortmund we seemed to be playing the same way we play v Arsenal & they ran through us like Arsenal did. Last night, we seemed to have a huge gap on one side of the pitch first half which, had we done the same v the rags or even WBA, would be a catastrophic.

It all seems to be some kind of special, cunning plan, which always seems to go wrong.

Mancini seems to be trying to win the Champions League himself, rather than keeping it simple & letting the players do it.

Neville said last night he reconed City should just do exactly what they do in the Prem & they would blow Ajax away.

I think he was dead right & I think we still would have won from 1-2 if Bob had let them do that.

Spot on Ted Hughes. Mancini loves over-complicating things. He said last night that tactics don't matter. Well, he needs to ditch the tactical master-plans then and just play to our own strengths as we do in the league. We'd still have a chance in this competition if he does this. But I won't hold my breath....

Whatever he does now, it would need an unlikely set of results to keep us in the competition & I wonder whether the players will perform, knowing that they are flogging a dead horse & that a Premier League game is coming a few days later ?

If we win our last 3 games we'd still have a good chance (goal-difference allowing). I can't see it being difficult to get the players up for the Ajax game as they'll be looking to recover some pride (presumably). If we win that, then onward and upwards. If not, then Mancini's got a few problems on his hands.

If we beat Ajax, things will look a little better I suppose.

Is it not our lame passing approach...lack of creativity that is our real problem in this competition? We pass without purpose! This gets us through league play okay but not CL competition. Looking at my club critically....I am bored with watching them. I have to blame the coach for that. Sorry Bob.

Two ways of looking at this Mate.
We finish 3rd, drop into the Euro League. Potential of limited glory and maintenance of our Euro Coefficient. Also increased pressure from more games. Thurs nights, Sunday League games are not ideal.
We finish bottom and are free to to concentrate on domestic glory. Retention of the title and possibility of a Wembley FA Cup trip.

Not sure which I prefer TBH.

I don't want to see City finish bottom of anything. You can only tell what is best after it happens, mate. ;-)

Three wins will allow the manager and the players to hold their heads up high, wherever we finish in the gruoup. I suspect three wins will not get us through anyway but more football and more UEFA coefficient points are always useful.

BTW, is it really time to sack the manager five months after winning the league?

time and time again I hear Roberto saying "it's my fault. i didn't prepare (well) for this game" in the aftermath
of a crucial loss, such as yesterday's must-win vs. Ajax. how the fuck does a manager not prepare a team for a big match.
what the hell is he being paid for?
