I would be in total agreement with him, if that corner had been scored in the 93 min & we lost.

However, just before that corner went in, we were actually bossing Ajax & probably playing better in a European away game that at any time since Bob came to the club. A team who has just battered WBA with ten men, was denied the opportunity to try & fight back against an average Ajax side, imo because Bob had a fit over Lescott not defending the corner & took him off.

Then realised what an absolute arse he had made of things & tried to fix it by turning into Brian Horton.

It was one of the worst managerial efforts I've ever seen & deserves the piss taking it's getting in the media. On this occasion; they are right. He needs to genuinely accept that (rather than pretending to) & get back to being the clever, organised, Mancini who was appointed.

I said something similar in another thread Ted. What I also said: it was panic and also pure arrogance from Mancini (you call it a fit over Lescott) to change the form when we had about half an hour left to come back. And to think that after the WBA performance, Mancini would have so little faith in his players, is mind boggling !!

That sounds like the status quo will be preserved. "We won't get an easier draw 'til we win some games, but I don't give a toss if we lose". So how does our coefficient ever get better?

I remember your series of similar Mancini out posts last season....about a couple of months before we won the League.
Didn't they follow a similar series of Mancini out posts the previous season...about a couple of months before we won the FA Cup.

Some serious questions for you mate. I know I can trust you to be honest with your answers.

1...Having been vociferous in your condemnation of Hughes and demanding his sacking, how long did you expect it would take Mancini to become the 1st City manager to win our 1st major trophy in over 30 years?
2...How long did you expect it would take Mancini to overtake the long established English clubs and lead us to the premier League title?
3...How long do you think it might take for any manager of your choosing to win the Champions League title?
4...When Mercer led us to our last title in 1968, would you have tolerated him still being in charge at Xmas the following season, having been knocked out of the European Cup in our 1st game and hovering around the relegation zones at the bottom?

Sorry I've taken my time answering John. Only got back yesterday and had stuff going on.
1) I wasn't demanding Hughes sacking. I was a 'licker' I was also with you in YOUR belief that we could have won the league the season before. The other thing is that I don't believe he 'leads' us anywhere, just stumbles along. As I've told you in conversation, I'm nearly always a 'stability' man, but I just have the feeling we are backing the wrong horse here.
2) I believe the financial advantage any manager has at Manchester City should allow them to out perform Liverpool, Spurs and probably Arsenal, quite quickly. So that puts us in a 3 team league with Chelsea and filth. I also think that we won the title DESPITE Mancini rather than anything he did. He threw the League away, arsing about defensively, and it was only when it became hopeless that we started attacking teams again. What if his genius "Man Uniteed eez favourite" was actually what he believed? I have heard that there was only Kidd who thought it wasn't lost and Bob had genuinely given up.
3) As the Champions League is in effect a tri-nations tournament (Spain, England, Italy + Bayern) I expect any manager of the English Champions to be able to reach the later stages, not capitulate in cowardly fashion to the likes of AJax and Dortmund. It's hard to say how long it should take. Chelsea failed when they looked a useful team and won it when they had endured an average season. A non scary filth team made the final. Besides I'm not that fussed about winning it, but for Christ's sake we don't have to look like frightened men.
4) As mentioned, I am usually an advocate of stability, so I'm fairly sure I would have 'tolerated' Joe for longer. I can't be certain about that obviously, but the position we find ourselves in now, is very much different. Mercer didn't piss millions away and certainly Malcolm and Joe could never have been accused of not having a go at teams.

I firmly believe that Mancini holds us back. I'm sick to death of watching us shit ourselves at the slightest hint of quality opposition. The performances at Madrid, Arsenal (every time we go there) Liverpool and most recently at Ajax are just not good enough, and show us that Mancini is inherently a scared manager.
I want a bold man who gets this pool of talent performing at the level it should, believing in itself and going out confronting teams saying "How are you going to cope with us?"
I actually like Bob, but have seen enough to suspect he will never be that manager.
