Ok for home against lesser opposition.

Even then though I still think both Micah and Zabs can go forward better than him.

I think some of you are a bit harsh. Did you really expect that Maicon was the same Maicon for 5 mil? When they refused a thew years ago 30 mil from Madrid?

Imho, he did ok last night. I expected for Tranny to own him, but Maicon did good. After he went off, Tranny did what he wanted with Zabs and eventually scored. For this amount of money, Maicon was ok, but let's not expect wonders from him.

Good post.Feels like he is being wrote off by everyone before he has even been given a chance.Nobody is going to have an easy night marking Tranny.

I think this says it all. Everybody seems to have forgotten that with Maicon on we hadn't conceeded a goal. 3 goals came after he left and 2 of them from Zabba's side. For the Tranny goal Zabba's defending was amateurish and criminal.
So let's lay off Maicon for a while and give him time to settle in. Reminds me a lot of how Paddy was received when he first came to Etihad.

Great stuff.... A right back who can't tackle, is slow, can't defend, is selfish and can only play against shit teams.... Sure I could do that myself.
Was there nobody in the world younger with potential we could have spent the shillings on?

Maicon was no worse in that game than most of City's defenders. Only Clichy performed to Premier League standard.

He shouldn't have been playing, for sure, but he was no worse than Zabba.

I have a feeling later in the season we will see exactly why Maicon was brought in by Mancini. Far too soon to judge him and it's still true that we didnt concede while he was on the pitch v Real Madrid

He's on the Paddy V path well and truly. I'll be happy if it ends the same way.

Whoever we played at right back we needed to double up. The real mistake was not playing Milner instead of Nasri. Anyone who thinks Zaba or a fit Micah can cope with Ronaldo on his own hasn't been paying attention. Even Clichy looked better when Kolarov came on. As everyone has said it was gobsmacking to see Nastasic play instead of Lescott. I'm not Joleon's strongest fan but we did need experience at the heart of our defence and Vinny's confidence level dictated the need for a familiar face next to him not a totally inexperienced youngster ( who actually looks promising). Bad mistakes by Mancini. He's plenty of credit in the bank but he does need to sort out the defence starting tomorrow.

Is he upto speed? NO
Did he look fast? NO
Did he put a tackle in? NO
Did he look a bit lost? YES.
All fair assesments to me.

For what it's worth i think he hasnt looked the best so far but i rate after a few more weeks of running then hopefully we will see the real Maicon.

Mate I haven't denied that in ALL the games he's played for us.

That's not what I'm saying... There are comments in this thread like he's played a full season. There are other comments wishing injury on him.

Just saw his name in the list as I was looking at doing a scorecast. I'd honestly forgotten he was with us. Already the new Trabelsi!

How many of our transfer window signings have had any positive impact?

I think Rodwell has done well, bar the odd mistake. I'm expecting big things from him and García. I didn't understand the Maicon signing at the time and nor do I now. That said, the Pizarro and Vieira signings paid off and they were two veterans who Bob was used to working with. So I suppose the jury's still out.

you're referring to the two goals he's gifted to our opposition, yeah?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Unfortunately there wasn't a James Milner to take the rap for him when he did it though.
