I've nothing but positive memories of him from his defending and winning headers (wtf) in our box to those special goals (including the 4th in 2004 derby which won me a 350-1 bet).
There was a derby where the scum had 6 players booked if I remember and 4 or 5 of them were for fouling the little man. That was just the ones that couldn't be ignored. he was murdered for 90 minutes and still shone.
Wonderful servant, and what his current employers fans think is irrelevant.
For us the good news was that a player of his potential eventually couldn't get in the team (and was made to look "shite") and that is before we went stellar.

i remember that game against the scum like it was yesterday. Thats was an absolute disgrace, fletcher (i think) was the worst. absolutely smashing him whenever he had the ball. Just bounced of swp though.

Sweeps 31 as stated, hes made his money and from the moment he signed for QPR I always got the strong impression its was his final big pay cheque without massive expectations from the "boss".

Watched him play a few matches and sometimes thought he does his mates at other clubs a "favour" with a few selective errors ;-)

Regardless one of my favourite players to ever wear our shirt.

Redknapp to the Hoops by Christmas. On going contract negotiations currently holding up Hughes sacking and Twitchy`s inevitable appointment

For me i always found Hughes to be good in transfers when he had little to spend... Give him cash and he loses control and inevitably his job.
