Booing our own players

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Just remember that collectively, we act as a 12th player. That 'player' can also be as shit as what's seen on the pitch.

The fact that there are people who are defending the cunts who boo and are actively defending them makes me feel physically sick.

I am so disappointed at how much like rags some of our fans have become, although I hope that they are largely the new bandwagon jumpers. I think this is the difference between supporters like me and the new fans who werent there to see us play true shit.

you've missed the fucking point mate

when will you people understand that saturday's booing was a direct result of 7 or 8 of our lads putting half arsed performances for 90 mins vs ajax and then again in the first 45 v swansea

IT WAS NOT BECAUSE PEOPLE EXPECT TO WIN EVERY GAME!!!!!

average fan shells out north of £50 to watch the team at home, players earn that every time they blink. the least we can ask of them is to look like they care when they step out on to the pitch...

I can see how people think booing the team has an effect.

I mean just look how much it worked the past when people started doing that. Literally every time the crowd started booing the team, it had an effect on our results & the more they booed, the more our results were affected.

Yep, if there was ever a club who can talk with absolute certainty on the effects of booing the team, it's City.

P.S. Booing individual players has proven results too.

If I humbly may, Her General and successful manager, I seems to understand that You are missing Sandman and Alex' point.
Let me first remark that I fully agree with You on the players not putting, even remotely, enough effort to earn the pride of wearing a City shirt in both those game: I have stressed that point in several post after that shame, also blaming the manager as the ultimate responsible, if not of the singles' performance, of the inability to recognize that something wrong was going on ahead of those performances and relevant failure to correct it.

BUT, once agreed on sentiments and that part of Your argumentation: BOOING the Club You are supposed to SUPPORT is WRONG and a fucking DISGRACE!
Yes it's an entertainment business, but preminently it's a SPORTING activity performed by YOUR OWN CLUB: and we all regret - You among firsts, I suppose - how much business and money have changed and "ruined" the sport.
Even the ultimate stronghold of pure Sportsmanship - RUGBY UNION - fell under the blows of business and we all are poorer because of that.
that's at least my little 5 pence.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

No fan ever boos a club FYI.........highly paid lazy players DESERVE THE BOOING at HALF TIME by passionate fans.

IMO Any fan who accepts lazy half hearted performance without showing their displeasure to the guilty parties ARE FUCKIGN DISGRACEFUL.

that's nearly everyone at the ETIHAD then, cos the booing was restricted to just a couple of hundred twats (some of who were probably just "easily led"). And do you also thnk that none of the boos were for Bobby?

The fact is that we are well in the title race after a poor start and once we hit form we'll be head and shoulders in front. Those who boo do so because they have the rag arrogance and they believe it is their god given right to win everything immediately because our players are paid well, I always thought that City fans were better than this but some on here prove that the only difference between them and the rags is their shirt colour.

To be honest I'm pretty sure the club would agree with us true supporters who are ashamed that we have this minority of horrible little cunts who think its acceptable to behave like rags, but then every club has its wankers.

I genuinely agree with most of your posts but putting other City fans down, calling them rag like, cunts, not true supporters to some who've probably been there when we were losing to Bury and Stockport is pathetic and more rag like in my opinion.

We're very fickle; but we're not stupid. If we see someone on £100-200k a week not arsed that they're pulling on a blue shirt, which most of us would do for free, we'll tell them!!

I believe I have earned the right to given that I go to EVERY game, I have done for years and I ALWAYS stay to the end and SUPPORT my club, even during the bad times. All clubs have their peaks and troughs, and when we're at a low point I am desperately gutted, but I get behind the team no matter what, I cannot however stand alongside those not decent enough to support the lads when they need it most.

I remember being stood there with my brother in 98 after city had lost 2-1 away at York, it was the worst point I'd ever seen my club and as low as we felt, those of us who were there never booed at all. The attitude and arrogance of abusing your own players is something I have always seen from their fans, not from ours. I never thought our fans could stoop so low, especially when our club is riding so high. Rag arrogance of the highest order. I will not applaud lack of effort but I will not boo either.

You don't remember Edghill getting booed?? Or The Goat?

As a kid sat in the Kippax there were plenty of times I remember City being booed off at half time. Its nothing new!!

The only different is the players back then weren't the best but most of them tried 100% (Jamie Pollock). Now we KNOW the players that are wearing the blue shirt have the ability to do whatever they want.

If they're not giving 100% then they'll know about it. Not because the fans want to boo the club. But they want the players to realise that they've paid good money to come to watch City and they don't deserve to have the piss taken out of them.

I honestly do not remember Edgehill & the Goat being booed, I would have told people to knock it on the head back then as well. I remember them being slagged off at the time, but I did not hear / notice the booing.

The players know when they are playing shit or making no effort, they do not need us to tell them, the club employ Bobby Manc to do this, our job as supporters is to support.

I was as pissed off as everyone else at half time, I still got behind my team, applauded and joined in with the few songs that went round from start to finish.

Serious rosé tinted glasses there mate, if you were there the day edgehill scored the own goal, you would have remembered it, the poor guy was in tears and never recovered from it.

At the time I felt awful for him, but at the end of the day he was on the pitch earning decent money and had a long history of poor performances which culminated in a shocking performance and an own goal. Whilst I wa shocked at the time, he was turning in awful performances week in week out, masquerading as a footballer - he never performed at the top level again, he was finished as a footballer but some to this day would have you believe it was those booing who were responsible for that.

Well my view is, how about the players take some fucking responsibility for once in their lives for their own performances. If they are not up to scratch, why should we accept that - whichever level of football we are at.

I see from your posts you are quite obviously the sort of person who believes themselves to be a better supporter than everyone else, and if anyone who doesn't conform to your view of what support is, they are inferior to you.

You are the reason scuffles break out when paying spectators want to express their disappontment - the very fact that a large number of people have booed shows that the people you refer to are not just isolated cases, lots of people felt let down in Amsterdam and again on Saturday - whether directed at the team or the manager is a different matter - having been at both games,y ire is directed at the fucking lot of them, but primarily to try an wake that stubborn cunt Mancini out of his tactical stupor

And guess what, he changed it immediately at half time, rather than his usual "persevere with getting nowhere for 65 mins then throw the kitchen sink at it"

In my mind, the fans displeasure on Saturday definitely rocked Mancini and the team for the better
