Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Did anyone hear Tony Gale this morning on sky sports news??

My god he gave us a right slagging off saying he was surprised at our position in the legue, we are our worst enemy, he named Tevez, Sergio and Dzeko as players back biting and causing trouble , he said we only won the league because of the rags fooking up and he hoped that West Ham got a draw. He didn’t have a bad word to say about the rags and Chelsea and thought they were great, despite the fact neither can defend.

Should he not be impartial and should he only say things that are factually true?? Is it a fact that there is back biting at City or is he just listening to media shit stirring and pass it off as the truth on national TV?

It's a fair point though, we were hopeless last season and there were at least 12 teams better than us. If it hasn't been for the referees giving us loads of dodgy decisions we'd have probably been relegated. Everyone in the media can see that and are jut trying to tell us to take our blue tinted specs off. If you do, you'll realise that Pearce's team was actually better just not as lucky.

Sorry I can't post links properly on my phone.

Alex, there was no bitter filter on. It was the top stories as they appeared on newsnow.

The fact you have never noticed any bias is weird pal. Fucking weird.

who said I hadn't noticed any bias? It's all over the pace cos there's still more of "them" than there are of us.
Now if you want to talk about the reporting on City by the MEN over the last 25 years, we can.
As I said before NewsNow top stories are just that, the "most read" so it shows that there are more readers interested in the bad news than the good, rather than that they only publish bad news. mathematically that's not that surprising is it?

It is suprising actually.

If you click the same on manchester united the top stories are all positive.

Simple.

but they have their "330 million supporters worldwide", so is it?

and actually the top five I get are not "positive" they are balanced and unbiased. One gives Arsenal a chance, one says they won't get their man from Celtic, etc

I'm not looking for the "why" mate.

Maybe we both agree... The media puts a bad slant on all things city whenever they can.

Folk who can't see that need to wobble their heads.

My take:

[strike]The[/strike] Some media puts a bad slant on[strike]all[/strike] Some things city [strike]whenever they can[/strike]Some of the time and it pisses me off as much as the next man. PLUS: the web gives a platform to a generation of rags with an axe to grind who are consistently anti-City, and those with chips on their shoulders faces a lifetime of head wobbling

'Newsnow' is a good indicator.

If the rags lose 0-6 to Arsenal today, their page will be full of doom for several days, then suddenly, the headlines will start to change to propaganda, as their media mates kick in.

A similar result for us will last for 6 months & the spin offs re Mancini, Balotelli et al will go on all season.

These 'Monaco' & 'Pep' stories will still be around in May as it is.

It seems most media 'pundits' reckon West Ham can/will nick a win today. I'm not suggesting they can't, but why the concerted effort to say so? Wishful thinking....

It's wierd, I'm usually religious with MotD but last night, I just couldn't be arsed. It must've been the 'Non-Refereeing/Colour of Shirt' debate that finally broke the camels back.

Like I say mate, didn't hear any of it. Can you confirm it was neutral analysis and commentary so I can watch MotD2 tonight?

And then we get on to today's Sunday Suppositry.

The collected journos couldn't wait to see Bobby out of the door to be replaced by Pep Guadiola, then after 5 mins of such guff somebody mentioned that PG had said that if he came to the UK it would be to a London club. So really you just spent the last few minutes talking bollox didn't you lads.

However, the star turn was Paddy Barclay. Basically, Utd are so far in front that even if City won both derbies Utd will win the league!!!!

They spent most of last season writing us off and seem to be doing the same this year. Well let them, I don't mind if we're underestimated - makes the final victory sweeter.
