Any thoughts on which kids? If we do play some (i.e more than 1) we are asking to get beaten imo. We don't really have many if any kids who can step up to the plate.
And what does get into the Chumps league rythym mean Dazzler?
We simply need to win tonight and preferably with a good convincing performance ( not like Villareal last season),hope that Real Madrid win and come to us having effectively already qualified. It would be great to go to Dortmund with half a chance.
You are in a better position than me to decide which kids Doug. For me, the Spuds game on the weekend is more important than tonight. I guess what I'm writing is that we play a second string side tonight so that we have a fresh full strength team for the weekend.
I've posted about this before. How many times have you heard people talk about the Chumps league as a different standard of competition with its own rhythm? You don't attack for 90 minutes. It's far more tactical. You choose your moments to go for the jugular. You choose your moments to sit back and defend. You choose your moments to press. European competition is a completely different kettle of fish to the bang crash of the prem and we just haven't found our place in it. Piccs made a great post earlier about Mancini's failures in Europe. However, in every game he mentioned you could point to the inability of the players to take control of the match and dictate the terms. To read the game and play accordingly. To tighten up at the back at times when the game required.
As the previous paragraph shows, I don't think we are there yet, and to chase it is futile. We know how to play in the Prem. Lets save our best players for the weekend and give our future players experience tonight.
Well I've paid for a fucking ticket for this & the Real Madrid game, so I'll settle for a futile chase with our strongest team if you don't mind.
I'd agree with all my mind, well ahead than with my heart, on the same logic.
If it wasn't for the fact that Mancini is gonna bottle the game, as he always likes to do.
I marvel why a fine a connoisseur of football like You CERTAINLY are, should invest hard earned money on two fuck ups: everyone knows that Mancini can't find his head between ears, when it comes to European Football, and even if he might ever do, he will certainly try his best to bottle it!
Luckily enough for MCFC, a very introduced and smart friend of mine has already understood that he's a dead man walking and he is just warming the bench a a senior manager, soon to come.
