An absorbing game, with quite the most incredible finale. Not sure Mancini's heard the last about marching onto the pitch like that.

There's still a twist or two in this group, I reckon.

What do you mean by that? Perhaps it's my poor English but I don't follow.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

He very quickly and advisedly apologised for it too. Not that I am his spokesman.

Not digging out Mancini, to be honest, because he was clearly incensed, but I still wonder whether someone might suggest he reins it in a bit.

City doesn't seem to me to be much of a happy camp at this moment in time.

I'm sure Roberto will apologise along the same lines over next few days, but it won't be as readily accepted.

Re "reigning in" i tend to agree & prior to tonight I held the theory that the refereeing in the Champions league was top class & that our previous failings were down to our naivety & inexperience. This is now, in my mind questionable.
The decision against west ham on sat for the disallowed goal was poor & I would have been fuming from your seat. I think it may have provoked us if allowed, but thats moot.

I guess my point is that I want to see fairness, & the further up we go the worse it gets. Perhaps this is reality, but a level playing field it aint

I feel for Mancini, he's had stick from the press about Monaco et al & now this happens - I actually prefer to see our manager giving a shit than pulling Mario off the ref and waltzing off the pitch & saying well these things happen

I thought we played quite well on the whole tonight & the players worked really hard. Can't agree with people slagging Vinny, thought he & Nastasic did pretty well on the whole, but as a team we defended poorly at times, well at other times.

Very impressed with Nasri today. I was close to writing him off again last week but he's come back strongly.

The big disappointment again this year, as last year, we have been dumped out of the Champions League by a vastly inferior team who many lesser Premier League teams would deal with, better than we have.

Not only that, but the types of goals we keep conceding are not on the whole wonderful technical Barca style works of art, they are mostly the kind of stuff we see in the Premier League, week in week out.

Against Bayern, we struggled against a big clumsy cunt of a striker who is pure British in his style. Then we left Cavani for a free header at the near post from a corner. Run the clock on & we go to Ajax & let someone score from a near post header from a corner. Then we play them at our place & let someone score from a near post header from a corner.

There are lots of thing in football that the manager & coaches can't do anything about.

That isn't one of them. Mancini, Platt, Kidd; this is your fault. Do your fucking jobs & stop it from happening. That's what we fucking pay you for.

holy shit. that was the easiest I've seen a team get 2 goals...Ajax did absolutely fuck all and went up 2-0. Of course our atrocious defense basically gifted them the 2 goals. So bad. Once again, zonal marking gives away 2 easy, uncontested goals.

Yaya's goal was great. he is an absolute beast. And my word, Barry sucks at going forward. He needs to stop taking corners and stop trying to thread a pass. his defensive work and cover for the back 5 is immense but going forward, he's as bad as NDJ.

there were two points during the first half in which Kompany and Javi got into a war of words over misplaced passes and then you could see Vinnie not wanting to pass Garcia the ball. this isn't good.

I admired the fight from City at the end but we just weren't good enough in the competition..flat out. The defense has let us down in this competition again.

The defence have let us down, but to be fair, the forwards have been profligate with the chances they have had, and the midfield have been poor in providing both cover for the defence at set pieces, and support in attack. Its an all round poor show unfortunately
