What do we need?

Postby Luke11993 » Wed Nov 07, 2012 8:21 pm

What do we actually need to give these players the kick up the arse they need? Like does it need a big player different style off play? I dunno what are your thoughts cause I'm struggling to think what they need, except a massive kick up the arse!

A motivator, someone to make them want to chase every runner in the box, to move for each other and to run through brick walls for each other the way zabba does every game

Yeh it's alright saying this but who is this person, can it become someone in our squad or have we got to look to spend millions on someone again, who can do this, Garcia for me when he was signed I was happy very happy, but he doesn't seem like anything special unfortunately, last night I focused on Gareth Barry and fort he looked lost, yes people are gonna disagree but this is my opionion, he couldn't pass to our player and is becoming slower each game, maybe this wanyama despite young mite be ideal, I dunno.

As much as one would like to blame mancini, we do need leaders on the pitch.

Carlos and zabba lead by example, but after that we dont seem to have anyone who is vocal on the pitch and can drive the team on other than maybe Joe. Apart from that they are as silent as the crowd were last night

TEMPO - we've seen how we can play towards the end of games when we're behind and needing a goal or two, playing a bit more directly and using our individual skill on the ball to create chances. Skill plus tempo equals unbeatable. Did I mention tempo?

Tempo, settled team, Mancini to relax a touch, We do appear to be the Mancini against the world at the mo, he has not helped with the Monaco oil to the fire comments and the press are after him. Last night Kidd or Platt should have stopped him for me, he will need the energy, Some players are not at it, Dortmund struggled for 2yrs, maybe we are gonna win 3rd time lucky.

In Europe, we need to be a bit more defensive and restrict our expansive style of play because as it is we always seem to concede the opening goals in European matches and playing catch up.

In the players - we need the form of the likes of Yaya Toure, Kompany, Aguero - our influential players to improve.

As for the press criticsm, they have been after City and Mancini since Amsterdam. We just need to continue to circle the wagons as we have done in the past and continue to produce good league results and if at the turn of the year, at worst we can be no more than 6 points off the leaders then we are in the title race hunt again.

So whenever things don't go swimmingly well for us, sack a manager? No.
We are not Chelsea, nor do I ever want us to be like them - sacking managers because they don't win a league or a cup for a season is just pathetic really - see Ancelotti, Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

And 'Uncle Avram' (who would be a good candidate for the manager who looks like a policeman thread)

To play with a settled back 4 like last season and then to play with high tempo move quickly from front to back. When we played like that last season we looked unstoppable

Yes... We are very slow at times, we should try and get the ball forward more quickly.

I'm all for the building from the back and it's easier to win if you are hard to beat but we are better when we go after teams in some games last season I left and thought we weren't that good but we had a massive 20-30 mins and won by 3,4 or 5 gaols sometimes. I'm just not sure where that has gone.
