Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!
by Redna » Sat Sep 22, 2012 10:17 pm
Though I've been on this great site for a couple of years I haven't intruduced myself. Swedish for a start and a City supporter since mid 70ties due to english football shown saturdays on swedish television. Got a hook on City cause every other kid in my neighborhood was "supporting" the filth. Affection grew and I finaly made a trip to see the blues for the first time in April 89. Crystal Palace at home and we won, can't remeber the score though. I few more trips in the late 80' and early 90's were made. Work and marriage kept me occupied for years and to be honest following City in the latter parts of the 90's was a golgata I still stood up to the Rag norm that is Sweden. Got two kids in 98 and 2003 and planning to take the boys to Manchester I finaly went with my oldest to watch HAmburg and WBA respectively in the spring of 2009. Since then I went with both Wife and kids to watch Fulham at home and Scunthorpe in CC Oct 2009.A trip with a mate in April 2010 to watch the Villa home game was something special regarding the night life of Manchester. Unfortenaly my beloved wife was diagnosed with breastcancer that summer but my two boys and I attended the home game against Wolves in October 2011. Life has been shit sinces that, though we were crowned champoins last spring. My boys mother and my dear wife sadly passed away on August 27th this year and life is a mess. BUT life has to go on and I'm so happy having Manchester City FC together with my boys aged 13 and 9.We are travelling over in late October this year to se atleast the Swansea gameand hopefully same COC and West Ham away.

I've always enjoyed your posts and it's good to finally hear your story, although I'm so sorry to hear of your (and your boys' ) loss.
Hope you're all looking forward to your October trip and remember: kids are very welcome in the Townley so there's a pint (and 2 soft drinks) with your names on them.

^this mate. for boys to lose a mother at such a young age is horrible and you your wife. I too always read your posts and you come across as what I call bread and butter types of he site, so its nice yet a tad sad to read your story.

got to earn your wings first.
The rules of the road are on here somewhere but new posters have to serve an apprenticeship as, just occassionally in the past, people have registered who don't have City's or City's fans' best interests at heart
Oh, and welcome

Hello everyone. In the last 2 years or so, I have fallen in love with football (yes I mean soccer) and Man City. Growing up across the pond in the US, we don't get a lot of exposure to football, except our version, which is odd because we really don't use our feet very much at all. But, since the last World Cup, I have really come to love it. Last season's match against QPR to win the League title was legendary, and this coming from a newer fan. I can't even begin to imagine what that was like for those of you who are lifetime fans. That only cemented my love for football and the Blues even more.
I look forward to the future of football and City. Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to contributing to this forum and make some connections with fellow supporters.
FYI, in my short 2 years of being a fan, I have developed a deep, deep dislike of the other Manchester team. So much so, it might even be unhealthy.

I wish I had such a brilliant knocking at this door.
Very nice sentiments, indeed, Fella!
do You have a pill, btw? my guts are still feeling the pain
1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City
You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...
In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

Add another Blue from Brum - supported'em since 96/97 through my best friend who moved down here from Manchester at the time as at 7 or 8 years old I stupidly thought there was only one team in Manchester and 'blue was my favourite colour', My first game was when his Dad took us both up to watch them play Huddersfield Town as he had tickets in the old Platt Lane stand, City lost 1-0 to a Steve Bruce lead Huddersfield which didn't go down to well ;) - I'll tell you my/our routine getting to games as I usually divide my time between Birmingham and Manchester.
Train from local Station to Moor Street
Get off at Moor Street and dash over to New Street
Goggle eyes on Manchester Piccadilly departure time
Hop on to Manchester Piccadilly train
Snooze/play on iPod on train for about an hour and a half, although I can't snooze if its Villa or West Brom fans, rowdy b*stards.
Get off at Manc Piccadilly
Hop in Uncle Brians car/Follow the City Link (depending if Uncle is available)
May head straight to stadium or get a bite to eat.
Watch Game
Same thing all over again but backwards and sometimes if I have family/friends coming we drive up instead.
So there you go, add me on Twitter too if you like @FeedTheGoat3
Not really here - and I think Oasis are shite

Hi all
I am a collector of City shirts & would like to hear from anyone who is interested in selling any shirts?
I am only really interested in pre-2000 season shirts (preferabley match worn), so if you have something you think I may be interested in just let me know?
If your interested, you can view my collection on flickr.com & then search for mcfc shirts (mr_blue1976), or try clicking the web link below
