Falcao in, ----- out?

Falcao in, ----- out?

Postby Piccsnumberoneblue » Wed Nov 14, 2012 12:11 am

So the rumour mill is linking us with Falcao as well as other clubs being supposedly 'in the hunt'.

So, firstly, do you want us to sign him?

If yes, then who do you want him to replace?
a) Balo, delivering far too little and generally a pain in the arse,
b) Dzeko, unhappy at being 'Supersub' but usually shite when he gets a start,
or c) Handsome Carlito, coming towards the last year of his contract and slightly damaged goods after last season's 'holiday' fiasco?

I'd be happy to sign Falcao and not exactly devastated to see the back of Mario.

I also think Chelsea will get him. Would be happy with a swap for Balo tho.

No goals in the league and not adding the work ethic of Carlos or Kun.

been absolutely nothing wrong with Balo's workrate this season. Goal scoring record ... yea, that is a concern, but I am not concerned about his workrate at this point.

You think he matches the two I mentioned in tiring out defenses?

you think falcao will or dzeko does? for overall workrate, I don't think aguero is on the level as tevez either. Mario's running and movement does make him very frustrating for defences ... my only point was slagging mario off for workrate is a criticism from a year ago. I'm not saying that falcao isn't a great striker, or that I wouldn't love to have him

I don't know, depends on the type of options you want to have at your disposal. Mario is different to every striker we have ... he's also quite young and I would not want to sell him. I do recognize that he needs to up his scoring (though he has proven he can score goals in previous seasons, important ones as well).

People can put forth various reasons for wanting rid of Mario, and I would say they are mostly valid and even if I may disagree with some of those criticisms, I have no problem having a discussion about it. My point from the beginning has been that workrate is not something to string him up on anymore (hope it stays that way).

If falcao came in (with mario leaving)and we had him, tevez, aguero, and dzeko ... dzeko would never get on and you could say the same thing about his lack of goals ... I think that's the nature of having 4 top class forwards. At the moment, Mario is getting the short end of that stick. At the same time, if he scored goals when he was on, he'd be playing more and getting more chances to score ... right now that is falling to dzeko, who is taking his chances and rightfully getting more appearances. It'd be a bit naive to think that will continue with no interruption, he started last season the same way.

I think it's worth having mario in the team, learning and growing with us ... even if he isn't scoring at the moment, I guess that's the long and short of it.

Still think Cavani would suit us better. Wouldn't be gutted to see Balotelli leave

would like to see guidetti given a run as well, hope mancini can fit it in somewhere.

I think guidetti has been a bit unlucky with the timing of his injuries/sickness, which might contribute as well.

I'd like too. Guidetti appears an asset to build on.

Also my firm believe holds on the huge wealth we have upfront.
sooner than later - hopefully - they'll got that plus that shall make em cool clinical and they will come from great to perfect.
Yeah, there are several decent strikers out of City but where's the point in changing for the sake of it? keep working and develop on class A stuff.

at least, until Kia greediness resurfaces (almost improbable, as it seems the Club have found a mean to keep him calm) or, obviously, Mario will be jailed for any of the countless crimes he is charged by media.

4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

Dont think we are in for Falcao. Cavani perhaps, but not Falcao.

We have 4 strikers now who arent slouches in front of gaol, plus Guidetti in the background too so it isnt a pressing need. On Guidetti I think he may be a useful bargaining chip in negotiations for other players possibly being part-ex'd if needs be.

I think we could be in for Falcao, but also it's very likely Mancini was watching Isco when he went over there some weeks ago.

If we do sign Falcao or any forward player of that caliber, they will not come into the club without a big name or two leaving, either beforehand or shortly afterwards.

Imo, although I think Mario has been very good, (& I think he could become better than our other strikers) I don't believe he will enjoy the same protection now that Txiki is at the club. If Soriano & Txiki they think we should cash in, they will make it a condition before releasing transfer funds. Also Dzeko is making it plain in every interview that he wants to start more games. Tevez is still an unknown.

Some fairly established players are going to be shown the door in the next year or so, imo. It's just a matter of which ones.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tevez offski, as was mentioned above he's coming up to his last year and if we haven't learnt from the Arse saga's then I'll eat my hat. On the other hand maybe the plan is to let Tevez run down his contract, he agrees to knuckle down and play regularly and we let him go back to Argentina?
