Man Of The Match

Postby Beefymcfc » Sun Nov 25, 2012 6:06 pm

Thought we did really well away from home to a top team. Zabaleta and Gaz Baz had me the first half but overall I'd give it to Barry.

I gave my vote to Milner. I never feel let down by him for some reason, although he could deffo improve his decision-making.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Good shouts Beefy! Barry was very good today, but I went for the hart of this team: Zabaleta.

I also thought Silva put in a real shift today, on both ends of the pitch.

I went with Kompany, he has not been at his solid and mr consistant self this season but today even with his injury i felt was his best performance of the season. It was a toss up between the skipper and Nastasic who was also solid too.

Aguero & Ya Ya were the biggest let downs everyone else I felt did well, Aguero with that terrible header and constantly taking to much time on the ball when he had it. Ya Ya's distribution was poor today which is unlike him.

I have to say though it was our best defensive performance of the season and looked better on the ball too, we deserved the 3 points just lacked the finnishing touch to get them points. To say Chelsea only had 1 shot on target all maych to our 5 and first time they have not scored at home is impressive from us.

I am happy, Wigan next if we play similiar to what we have today we will get them 3 points im sure. :)

I went for Kompany...
The most important thing for a forward is speed of thought. Top players read the game.

I'm not being dramatic here but I'd say that Zab's is World Class in his position. Mancini is making him a must.

I've gone for Zab. He was always a good player, then over the last 2 years he turned into a very good player, and now he's truly excellent. Both defensively and going forward he is brilliant. Another superb game from him today.

The 2 centre-backs both had very good games too, as did Barry and Milner.

Yaya was absolutely shite...again. His name shouldn't even be on the list above.

Had to go for Zaba. Yet another excellent, fully committed display from him as we have come to expect. He has always had grit and determination but I feel that he has greatly improved as a footballer over the last season and this one. For me he is the best right back in the Premier League, if not the world, and is fast becoming my favourite player. I thought Kompany had a very good game today as well. Aguero was very disappointing however as was Yaya. When will last season's Yaya turn up? On current form he shouldn't be in the first XI

I am a massive fan of Zabba but he makes me nervous, he is very rash, 80% time he goes in and gets the ball but there is always that 20% where he commits and gets beaten. He is by far the best defensive minded RB we have even tho he is also good coming forward but I dont think he is perfect. I would still rather have him at RB than anyone else we have.

I disagree. I think that he has almost eradicated the rashness from his game and you have even said that 80% of the time he gets the ball, although I think that it is probably higher than that. No defender in the world gets the ball 100% of the time and these days I am confident that Zaba will only make the tackle if he has a chance of getting the ball and he usually does

Went for Nasty.

No one really shone today but been impressed with Nasty the last few weeks and felt he deserved the vote.

Superb CB for his age, could easily become a real worldy in a few years time.

I thought he & Barry were excellent but imo 90% of all the crucial, life or death, defending was done by Vinny & Zabba so I'll pick one & go for Zabba, just.

Me too - he's always looked confident on the ball, but he's starting to look dominant defensively too.
My Man City quiz book (now in print as well as Kindle) still outselling the rags! I'll be able to afford a Balti pie soon!

got to be a defender as going forward we were pretty piss-poor. and the best of the defenders for me was zabs.

I went for Milner. Always 8 or 9 out of 10 whenever he starts.
