That's the guy - I always remember him as have a conehead though for some reason. Was quite highly thought of towards the end of his career (maybe earlier too, but he wasn't on my radar for all that long).

He certainly was a very good ref, particularly excelling on being often next to the core of the game, more often then not.
also he made himself a certain reputation for being a quite democrat in his dialogue with players.

Like every Italian Referees, You had to see different performances on international stage than when officiating big Clubs, domestically.
But, at least was on Juventus black list for long.... ;)

haha, that has to be the best endorsement possible for an Italian referee, surely?

Fantastic referee; IMHO one of the best of all time.

I often thought it was a pity that it wasn't possible for him to referee in this country. He would have made our sorry shower look even more third rate than they were/are.

probably the first ref to give Balo his dues. quite impressive as life goes on.
not saying he's more than sufficient though, but fair enough: that's an achievement when City are involved...

What seems strange to me is that everything hasdone a complete flip. It's wierd to watch games without keeping an eye on the ref or waiting for the media barrage afterwards.

Have we finally been accepted or has our PR Dept/Vicki Kloss kicked in? If it's the latter, well done.
