Twitcher has certainly been working overtime in letting all and sundry know what a difficult and virtually impossible task he has inherited in trying to save QPR from relegation. The media have lapped this up and, in typically grovelling style, echoed every self-serving and opinionated utterance he's poured forth.

If he wheels and deals and splashes the cash for all he's worth in January and 'mirabile dictu' he does save the club from relegation, he'll be regarded as the new Messiah and allowed to walk on water wherever he wishes. The pressure for him to replace Hodgson as England Manager will build up and be like the tide coming in.

If he fails, he's got his excuses already in place and he'll be coated in Teflon, but the obtuse and incomprehending media never point this aspect out.
