Which bit? I don't think our defenders are shit. They have been shambolic tonight and the first half of this season though. I thought those days were over until tonight.

Mancini not caring about the derby is the only conclusion I can manage after seeing him play all our cb's, zaba and all our strikers 5 days before the derby. I honestly think it is a bit of a hinderence for him at the minute and Herut wants December out of the way without falling too far behind so come January he can kick on with the season.

Boo hiss hiss.

It's a lovely cup competition and one I want to win in the future but teams like us need to grow into it and I accept that.

I also accept that ajax away was a joke, as was dortmund at home. We were robbed at home to ajax and today was all but a nothing game.

Had we come 3rd in this group I wouldn't have been surprised. We came a place lower than we should have.

A lot of it is mancini's fault. Some of it is the players fault. We won't get that group again. No way.

So if we become champions again, I couldn't give a flying fuck.

And I think we will. Especially now.

Maybe they should stop pretending to be shit then.

This. Joe is clearly pissed off and at a loss to explanation.

Lack of motivation due to winning the league?

No chance, lack of motivation due to pathetic amounts of 'WAGES'.

Absolute garbage in the champions league, but the Europa would have been a massive distraction with 1/2 the squad training normally and the other half travelling Europe. The match day preparations for league games would be disrupted, Thursday Sunday Thursday Sunday is not what I wanted. I am glad we are out of the Europa, I think it will be good for us in the long run this season. Mancini really needs to sort his European tactics and team selection out, he needs to take a long hard look at HIS mistakes and fix them.

We have not been ripping up trees in the premier league either, I am not too confident about the weekend, just glad we are at home and not at the swamp.

Tonight was poor - hope all 11 that start on Sunday show the same commitment as Tevez, otherwise it will be a seriously tough one

I didn't say I was glad we were out, I said we got what we deserved - try telling me we earned the right to stay in either competition.

I didn't quote you so not sure why you think I was referring to you? Others have stated they were glad we were out, it's their comments which prompted my post not yours. I didn't read yours

Great in possesion and did play some good balls tonight.

We need him to do more though, really grab the game by the scruff of he neck and do sumat. He did that against Spurs away and Chelsea home last season, that's its really. Two good games in 14 months is not good enough.

Yes to clarify it was the bit about the derby. Last seasons 3 matches against the rags suggests that Mancini cared as he put out a team that won in 2 and showed real fighting spirit in the other.

It's not only that You don't win football games without bossing the mid of the park: You DON'T PLAY!

I blame 100% the manager for tonight embarassment, TWICE:
1) for sanctioning that disgusting purchase of that complete utter[strike]shite[/strike] non footballer named Javi Garcia, instead of grow some balls and call up the failure of the market. Risking on Abdi would have gained much more respect to him and some economy to the Club.
2) for not taking that joke of hands stolen from farming off the pictch after 15 minutes! I know we have 4 central mids, one injured and one suspended. You could still have better moved Nasri alongside Gaz Baz, or getting Zabba in there, or even better offer some experience to Evans.

It's not droll, it's lapse of reason, ffs. THIS IS NOT ROBERTO MANCINI FOOBALL. Someone, DH plese, should remind him that his fooball is based on domination of the midfield: You dominate fuck all killing Gareth Barry by asking him to carry on the whole Team on his sole shoulders!

I AM FUCKING LOST. SHOULD A SHAME LIKE THIS REPEATS I WILL WANT THE MANAGER OUT!

I'm more arsed about him changing to 3 at the back again tbh, it ruined the confidence of our better players & made us look stupid. I was all for the idea of playing fringe players like Garcia tonight.

I disagree completely, Mate.
Again, I am not a fan of the back three system, at all, but may help in many occasion and it's an additional competence that Top sides must have under the belt. We can, I did, question the timing of its introduction, but once he decided for that it's positive to work on it. and tbf it's worked out a couple of stalmates.

On the complete utmost opposite, fielding a non footballer and masking him as a fringe player, it's a temporary (HOPEFULLY) lapse of reasoning. Twice the worst in a game that counted for the Club, and that He proved on willing to win, by fatiguing Barry and Tevez, first and foremost!
Sinclair is a fringe, the 3 Lads from EDS are fringe, Garcia is arms stolen out of farming job.

We were playing well in the game & almost equalised just before Bob changed it.

Then, just as in Amsterdam, we were a joke & just about every possible defensive mistake was made by just about every player, & we ceased to exist as an attacking force for about 20 mins.

If I'd had a 'sack' button at that moment, I would have pressed it.

This is the first game that I am delighted we lost for a long time, Europa is nightmare (good away days for us fans aside).

We are now in a far better position to have a real go at retaining the league title and reclaiming the FA Cup.

This poor CL campaign actually could work out as a blessing in the end.
