back to the philadelphia union for a second, the stadium they play in is in Chester, PA.

i was really pulling for Chester City as a name.. f'ing union. chester city has an amazing ring to it.

i dont really like the current set up for the MLS.. 19 teams, two conferences, playoffs.

i would love it if they got that 20th team... and then made a 2nd tier league, and model it off of leagues in Britain.

The Pozzo family owns Udinese, Granada and Watford, for an instance.

On Topic. Think this might result great for City on many levels: not only US is obviously a prime merchandising market, still quite maiden, but there lays a huge potential in talents to be stolen from other, more popular sports and Football is getting more and more popular on mean street.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

That will never happen these teams are paying a lot of money to get into the league there is no way they go to a two tier system. Everyone once in a while someone will bring up pro/reg between the 3 divisions over here on a message board that talk doesn't last long. Playoffs is just the way things are in American sports and it will never change.

Fairy muff. I was amazed in Florida last year by signs in supermarkets in Spanish. The Daily Mail would explode if similar happened here and I always thought that would be viewed as communist propaganda in the States, so god knows what most good old southern boys think about it.

A NY team would be better for worldwide publicity though. It is the big name in America, at least as far as foreigners are concerned

My best friend's daughter is quadrilingual, purely because she learned Spanish from the toys she was sent by her American grandfather, and my mate got in a tutor to start filling in the bits purely because of the interest... (other three are Welsh, English and German)

Neither was sheikh mansour. Want him out the door?

I was told by someone who knows Cook that he would be back at City in a US ambassador role within 18 months.

Nike, Cook, America...it's his patch of land where he made his mark. He knows the set up, he knows City, he knows the Arabs and he knows the market. All the pieces fit.

I'd slide Uwe Rosler over there as manager too.

Wait wait wait .... if doing this ups the potential of attracting more foreigner fans to city ... we should have no part of it. Stealing season tickets off the deserving few. Bollocks to that.

Nike wouldn't be involved. All MLS teams use Adidas for their kits. It's a little different over here the leagues make the agreement with the different manufactures not individual teams. The NFL/Nike, NBA/Adidas, MLS/Adidas, NHL/Reebok, MLB has two one for jersey's Majestic Athletic and one for caps New Era.

If this Manchester City buying an MLS franchise I'd think we'd run the risk of spreading ourselves too thin. Wouldn't mind contributing to the programme though.

If it's ADUG I'm guessing its another step in the diversification of Abu Dhabi for when the oil runs out. I'd be torn about it being the Cosmos too. On one hand they were the most cosmopolitan on earth. But their modern association with Eric Cantona and assorted hangers on/including fielding a side for cannon fodder in Paul Scholes testimonial must stop
