It should be renamed the "done well to qualify for the champions league league" as united and arsenal have no claim to the name champions this season.

Also I'm finding it harder and harder to listen to Niall Quinns commentary, I hope he's over compensating cos he sounds like he fucking loves the rags!

Now your just making it up as you go along !..Noone believes we should win every game but I daresay 99.9% of us expects us to fuckign progress.
Upstaged by Ajax...yeh...we should feel good about that.

I have to admit I go into every game believing we can (and maybe should) win. It's a sign of how far we've come.

Tbh been around to long seen to many relegations and utter utter shit to be too down in the mouth about going out of the Chumps league . However Carl is right the way we,ve handled this campaign is fooking shocking . and to me the blame falls squarley at Bobbys feet. After the Madrid game he said he new what the problem was and he would sort it , Well how did that work out .Embarrassed maybe not fooking pissed off yes sir , But I wouldnt mind betting that in the circles the Sheik walks in he is a tad embarrassed about this campaign.

We've had a problem for twelve months now, and Bob hasn't given the slightest sign that he even knows what it is, he is going to sort out, never mind achieving it.

We don't get behind teams, we move the game around like a game of chess but lack the pace and width to truly stretch teams. Bob seems happy to keep this same 'tippy tappy, going nowhere quickly' style. It is almost like he doesn't see our plodding methods as a problem.

Why would he? You want City to play in the English style of kick and run which has won English sides precisely bugger all. Mancio plays an Italian style based on tactics and possession. It won us the league last season and could very well do it again. Even if we don't win a trophy this season I want him to see this through.

It's funny, but I was also thinking how bloody arrogant it would be for us to feel embarrassed. In a group that includes German Champions Dortmund (who look like possible winners), Franco's Fascists and Ajax, why on earth should we feel embarrassed. Oh,that's right, we've spent some money. Still disappointed, like.

I'd prefer to see us play 'run then kick' which I still class as English.

English football (Stoke etc) will win nothing in Europe and wouldn't win the Premier League. However, Dortmund, Madrid and Ajax moved the ball much quicker than we did and closed us down much quicker. They didn't just lump the ball to a big man, but were able to play possession stuff at pace. Dortmund in particular were frightening at times in the first game.

I'm all for possession football and get fed up with complaints at the games to 'gerrit in the box'. But you still need to carry a threat and at times, we've been too slow and have forgotten to actually look for gaps and go forwards

We should still want to be in as many competitions as possible. We don't need to not be in Europa to make sure we beat scum to the league title! They're shite and getting found out more and more as each game passes!!

Just because I want us to play with speed and flair to get behind teams that doesn't mean a big boot up the park is compulsory, why would it? We were playing reasonable football for a few months at the end of 2011, we've been plodding and grinding out what results we've got this season.
This 'unbeaten in the league' thing is papering over some cracks, We have failed to beat most of the good sides we've met, been battered in Europe and six teams have left The Etihad with more than just a suck on a half time orange.

My head isn't buried mate. I'm just concerned that yours may be. The difference between this season and last comes down to one stat and one stat alone : chance conversion. We are creating just as many chances, but they aren't being finished at the same conversion rate of last season. That's partly due to defences playing deeper and narrower and our strikers not finishing.

The difference between this season and last season is that we aren't moving the ball forward as quickly or with the same urgency, so play breaks down when we hit the solid wall of massed defence near their penalty area resulting in chances that are generally from a longer range (which is why we aren't converting them).
'English' play to me means at tempo, not the "kick and run" you alluded to - ask any foreign player coming to the Premier League what makes it different and they will say it's the speed the game is played at. Match that tempo with individual skill and you get an unstoppable tsunami of Man City awesomeness.

Ummm.....they had a bullshit red card in the 36th that tied it 1-1 and then played with 10 men for the remaining hour.
And, Subotic and Kiehl are injured.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.
