Based up on the season so far, please could everyone do a projection of how they feel the season will pan out for City.

Not unless our strikers start taking chances and scoring goals. Simple as that, we are not converting enough chances.

It was a pile of utter, fan- patronising shite when our season was judged on it (when Hughes was sacked) & it would be the same if our season, or Mancini, was judged on the same criteria. Basically, imo, it was a pack of lies used as an excuse for something that was going to happen, & Cook knew fuck all about it.

Edit.

But my personal thoughts on Mancini are another thing.

So you think that the title is already lost? In December? Get a grip ffs. There's still a long way to go and the rags were far from convincing to day. Their defence is a shambles and could end up costing them the league. If you've given up already then why bother supporting City?

No, you get a grip and learn how to read.

The thread is quite clear. Do a Cook Projection.
Those with a brain understand that, it means based on the season so far and the form we have shown stays he same, how will we finish. A Cook style projection takes no account of a change in form or personnel, it uses what we have seen to project forward.

2nd place, no cups and a new manager after the season ends

don't want to get into the semantics of whether or not it would be right to sack mancini - this is just what I think will happen

I can read perfectly well thank you. If you bothered to read my post properly you would see that I was quoting your reaction of 'Do you believe the shite that you just wrote?' in response to AG7.

Your question implies that you don't think the team has the ability to do win the league thus believing our season to be over - in December!

Love your optimism

To win the Prem Leagye we would need to string 8 or 9 wins together on the spin, starting about now and you just cannot see that happening.

The FA Cup is a realistic proposition - it may be the only thing we have left - so lifting that and finishing top 3 is the minimum, given the squad at our disposal.

So you are saying that a team that made up 8 points in 6 games last season cannot make up 6 points in 22 games unless they do it in the next 8 or 9 games? What utter tripe. The more I read this site these days the worse it gets...

I've made a few posts in the past about psychology in football, and at the end of last season when we had our epic run of games the title was effectively lost - the players had nothing to lose and it showed in how they played - Mancini's claims that the title was already the RAGS just reinforced it in them. This season we're six points down with a loooong time still to go BUT we now have everything to lose. I will be interested to see how that plays on their minds if at all - and I think this season (even more so than last season) we will get to see what they're made of.

No cape, he right. We will have to go on a run, and in the parameters of a Cook style projection, that scenario is a low possibility.

Luckily reality and Garrrrrry Cook are 2 different things and he can go and do his projections in the UFC.

We are 6 points behind. Last season we were banging in goals for fun and had spells where we were playing really well; this season we havent shown anything like that, the squad is no better, in fact in some areas its worse, and there is no indication that the type of long run of unbeaten games we would require is imminent. Conversley Utd's squad is stronger as they have added a 30 goals a season striker to it, who regularly bails them out, which they didnt have last year.

Lets revisit this post at the end of March, see where we are and you can then admit you are seeing what you want to see.

I stopped reading at this point because we have just had an unbeaten run of 21 league games.

For me, it's up to Mancini. I still think the only team that will stop us winning the league this year is City.

I don't agree with either of you. You; that it's not crucial & Goaters that it's not likely. How many do you think it's reasonable to expect the rags to lose in the next 9 games v Sunderland, Swansea, Newcastle, West Brom, Wigan, West Ham, Liverpool (H) Spurs, Southampton ? Would you normally expect them to drop more than 3 points ? So if we drop points, the margin stays the same or gets worse.

Our next 9 are Newcastle, Reading, Sunderland, Norwich, Stoke, Watford, Arsenal, Fulham, QPR. Hardly climbing fucking Everest to win most of those is it ? Do you think it will get easier to pull back the 6 points after that period, when we play Liverpoool, Chelsea & travel to Goodison, White Hart Lane & the swamp in the next ten ?

We pretty muh need to win most of the next 10 games. If we win 6 of them, perhaps Bob won't make any stupid fucking team changes at Arsenal, & we can win there too.

This period is about to decide the title.

let's work in reverse! If we estimate a total of 86 points will win the league (yes I know it might be more) it means we need 53 points in 22 games so that allows us to drop only 13 more points. That's 3 defeats and 2 draws or 4 defeats and a draw.

Is that possible? Of course it is but it obviously isn't easy and the run needs to start now and I reckon it will need us to win at the swamp which is equally doable. It's all pointless conjecture and would be even crazier to try to pontificate on which matches might cause us to lose points as any of them could.

At the same time the scum need to get 48 in 22 games to beat us which allows them to lose 18 points from now.

I think the shite will drop points, possibly quite a few, but I just struggle to see us threading the sort of run together that will put any pressure on them. There have been very few comfortable wins and something needs to change fairly rapidly.
