Mancini lately.

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Mancini lately.

Postby Pretty Boy Lee » Sun Dec 09, 2012 10:51 pm

Some may call this knee jerk, but I've had this question in my head for a few weeks now.

Before I ask tho let me clearly state, I don't want bobby sacked.

That said, when players under perform he drops them (not Balo tho seemingly). What do you do when a manager under performs? We sucked balls in the cl and threw away Europa to rest players for the derby and now that went tits up?

If you're the owner what do u do?

Are you sure you don't want Mancini sacked? Seeing as a manager can't be dropped the only other option the owners have is to sack him. This is a stupid thread

I'm more intrigued by what you want. You say you don't want him sacked though you seem to want him dropped.

Are you suggesting that Bobby is moved 'up stairs' to a Director Of Football role, or similar? If so, who would you want as Head Coach and what would they bring that Bobby can't?

Hart, Zab, Vinny, Lescott, Clichy, Silva, Ya Ya,Barry, Nasri, Tevez, Aguero and Dzeko will all become bad players if we get a new manager. In fact, we'll probably get relegated.Really.Its true. It would be a disaster.if we'd never bought Balo, we wouldn't be where we are.If we sell him we'll get relegated.if we start to work on getting the ball out wide and making a variety of runs into the box or pulling it back to a midfield player, it wont work. We'll never score.we should take three years to find a winger and then play Nasri instead. We should scour the world to find a holding midfield player whose a bit taller than Nige. But we'll never find one despite having a world wide scouting network so we'll buy Garcia instead. So really, lets stick with what we've got. These players are only average. You cant expect miracles over night. We're heading in the right direction. That dutch team cost more than 2 million quid you know. Its true.

Pep Guadiola's everyones favourite at the moment. Let's imagine that he's appointed next summer.

He'll be new to the league.
He'll want to alter the way we play.
He'll want certain players out and new one's in.

If, given all this, he still manages to hit the ground running: we make the CL knockout stage with ease and wipe the floor with our rivals. It would be one of the most stunning managerial achievements ever.

The chances are, though, that he would need time to make it all work. I'm sure the owners would give him the time. I'm equally sure that many fans wouldn't.

We're not even half way through the season, we're still playing for 2 competitions (League,FA Cup). I won't complain, worry, or even bother judge him based on what happened thus far this season, or during the last couple weeks or so. We need to wait until the end of the season and see how we finish it off, and make a decision based on that.

I guess I want a rocket under his arse somehow.

I honestly don't know what tho. Yeah we're in two comps, but we're out of two as well, which means he's already fucked up half our chances of silverwear.

There's a difference between losing and fycking up completely. He's done that this season. I want better.

Fair enough. Looking at it from a different perspective he earned his right to take it for granted imo.

On the other hand we need the manager to be secure enough to build a long-term, stable, successful club. Looking over his shoulder every five minutes would mean there is no focus on the long term. This would be seriously wrong, IMO.

Gradually people are learning that Mancini is not all that. He has fucked up this season by December.
The Etihad is no longer a fortress as the Filth become the 7th team to take something from here this season.
The away form is no better than it was, we haven't beaten a single decent team. (unless you count Spurs). We have only won two games convincingly, (and they were Villa and Sunderland and they are rank rotten) Everything else has been a struggle.
He hasn't addressed the problem of our attack becoming increasingly blunt. It's simple, pace and width ffs Bob. We have lost to a team this week who have probably only two players who would get in our first XI. But they get the ball wide and cross it. It is simple really.
Every week he is getting his starting selection and formation wrong and we're having to fire fight in the second half as glaring errors are corrected. Yesterday we lost because of a wholly predictable first half performance, not because of a suspect late free kick. Bob cost us that.
Mancini is wasting vast resources available to him, that only a few managers in world football enjoy.
He has to go.
As soon as possible.

Many fans seem 50/50 about him but sacking him now would be sheer and utter madness. i think we can still win the league. Who knows what will happen after that. But sack him now, no way.

On the train back from Dortmund, I had a conversation with a blue from Hazel Grove, nice lad, he said Bobby will face a review from the new guys soon. I was up fror defending Bobby and did so honestly, was having no sack him, that would play into the rags hands.

I am very frustrated with him today, as I see it we should be spanking them, we should never be 2 down before we get started and he should never have started without Tevez, the strength of the rags is counter attack, you know they are crap at the back and we waste 2/3 of the game before we up the tempo, we are to narrow lack width and still had enough in 30 mins or so to have won a game we were chasing. He needs to sort it out rapid or he will be under pressure, Geordies away lose that I can see trouble for him. He wants 100 mill in Jan for De Rossi and Falcao, wil he get it not so sure. Falcao got five last night, BTW. Still no width with the purchases.
