Training Thursday 13/12

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Training Thursday 13/12

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Thu Dec 13, 2012 1:16 pm

Even colder today and when I arrived , a little later than usual, there were no signs of anybody. A little walk later to warm up by which time Fausto was out all on his tod setting stuff up. Maybe they were all inside watching the exciting cricket?

Actually after the walk and with the sun beating down it was quite warm.Just 18 out today including Razak and Scapuzzi and with Milner coming out later to work alone with a physio.Lots of warm ups routines again as you would expect.Especially for the Independent ,Colin Bell was awesome today and a cert to start at Newcastle.

After the exercises they split into 2 keep ball groups and then into a game which was 3 touch and "goals" scored by passing the ball to a team mate through some cones which were strategically placed around the middle of the pitch. Not sure of the exact rationale for this game but I guess it's all about off the ball movement plus for the defensive unit to see what's coming and block off the passing angles.

When this part ended Mancini took a team away for some routine preparation work for the next game and left the rest who did some one on one finishing plays which are always fun to watch. As ever Mancini worked with a team but did make plenty of changes to the formation and personnel so that all players got a go at the 1 on 1 fun.Arguably the best at the 1 on 1's was Scott Sinclair with a good conversion rate but Silva looked good too.

To finish they had a 9 v 9 which started with a goal from Edin after he won the ball in a challenge and he nearly did the same again a minute later but I couldn't stay for the rest of this to see how it finished. The last thing I saw was Zaba get hurt but quickly recover, rub it better and limp on. He was fine!

Bob should put Nasri against a wall and let the other players smash the ball at him

I hope Guidetti gets a run out but I also hope people are reasonable & sensible with him. The number of people who have said stuff like 'sell Dzeko & Balotelli, sign A.N Other then we've got 4 strikers including Guidetti' , ffs, the lad has barely had a kick at City first team level ever & hasn't played proper football at all since springtime. The problem he had, meant he had to rest rather than train, so even if he was 100% fit & healthy within himself now , it could take him until next season toget match fit.

I'm sure these same people, if he plays & is half speed & shit, will say 'sell him'.

Just let him come along at his own pace.

Guidetti needs a short spell out on loan preferably in the Prem after all that time out injured.

May not be up to it.

Lets have a look at him as sub in the FA Cup or something & take it from there.

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...
