Yaya and kolo dance craze

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Yaya and kolo dance craze

This was in a nightclub in bedford on a student night. All the uni teams have adopted it as their song, and I know for a fact none of them are city fans, which shows how catchy this dong is.

Evidence right there that some tunes should not be imitated by others. Sure its flattering they did it but equally their version made me cringe tbh

Whatever happened to talking to girls in college? You guys really take this "lads culture" shit to a gay extreme. i blame X Factor.

Bit of a cringe, agreed. Half of them probably don't know what they're singing.

But on the positive front, at least it's popularising us, however tenuously, in a positive way. We're City, we have mint songs and mint players, and we sweep the nation with it. Fine by me.

Jesus Christ, I don't go to the uni I wasn't there at the time, I simply posted the video to show the attention it/we was getting everyone's a bit hostile right now!

I just flat out dont understand it.

Those singing have obviously never heard no limits by 2 unlimited, dont support city, yet are singing and dancing about city players?

Wonder how many of them were rags too?

I just dont get why they would do this.

I wouldn't count this collective reaction as hostile overall. Negative maybe. But you gotta understand, this is something of our own, that has technically been plagiarised by a bunch of folk who neither understand it, or can sing it properly. It's like someone nicking a joke you made up and telling it wrong, or selling fakes of your pictures, that look shit.

However, if it went viral, and somehow immersed the globe in a wave of City based love, then so be it. THat would be good for revenue. And maybe tear away the soul of the club by cheapening, bastardising, and lamely re-hashing the best efforts of the fans in their hitherto inimatable support of the team.

I guess my views are mixed: I only meant to think that negative bit, then realised where I was.

edit: hostile being: FUCK OFF! negative being: not keen.

Ok, well again I only got sent this video so I thought i would share it in here. Yes it is a shit version but the fact is its quite funny that it was being done in a nightclub. That's all but I also find it cringe other fans doing it and thinking they know it

Is it just me or do our fans at the ground sing it far too quick? It's annoying when it's not done properly.

The original and best version ... which I presume is what they were trying to imitate.
