Mancini said maybe not for Saturday in his post-game interview...although he doesn't
know anything since Nasri hasn't been evaluated yet.

Not seen a better City performance this season.

Indeed we were Walmai, first half especially.

Tough game for you tomorrow, mind Brom haven't been too good in their last few games. Good luck

Good to see your view again Walmai, apart from the Brom game I'd probably agree that it was one of our better games, the first half in particular. Just watching MotD and it showed that we had far the better chances. Even in the second half we sould've had a few if we'd took the right decision.

Pity MotD concentrated on Shearers love-child's, there was some really good stuff played.

slightly disagree Pal.
I absolutely loved the West Brom game, but today 1st half has been much more free flowing, more so when You consider that we didnt have the best midfield setup, missing Baz and Jimmy Jaws.

It was obvious today more than ever - Aguero is a greedy cunt.
I think he is the most greedy of all 4 of our attackers. He plays for his numbers, not for the team, on occasions.

We have 4 world class forwards, but they obviously dont link up not because they arent able to do so, its beacuse of their selfishnes.
What I saw today was disgusting at the moments.. Its like everyone is playing for his account (upfront).

Mancini has part of the blame for this.
The most important thing for a forward is speed of thought. Top players read the game.

It was the manner of the win against Brom, against all odds as they say where every player stood up to the plate. Today we seen everything that makes an excellent team but at the same time we only showed real quality going forward in about 30 minutes of the game. Not complaining of course, it was an overall excellent performance, just that I thought the Brom game deserves more merit.

absolutely agree on West Brom game as a much all round performance, for all the game length and against a better side, at that time.
On merit I cannot certainly disagree.
I was only trying to remark - with much relief - that we finally have seen an half of last season's free flowing attack face.

West Brom for me also in terms of an all round performance. The question I have about today, and I know we were magnificent in that first 30 minutes or so,is how much of that was down to how poor Newcastle were? We did have a great front 4 excellently prompted by Yaya but some of the barcodes attempts at defending were shocking ( a bit like the Sunderland efforts today at the swamp)

It's a very good point Doug but at the same time the movement and passing was quite amazing, we could've had more against another team. For me, the defence did the job whilst the attack could've done a lot better. Just look at Sergio's attempt when he could've passed it to Edin and then vice-versa when Edin looked half arsed passing it back.

Clinical has been mentioned on numerous occassions, we're not quite ther yet.

I don't think you can credit a poor opposition for the kind of slick incisive fast paced passing we were doing particularly in the first half - it was like watching us last season again. That's what generated so many chances for us, rather than losing all momentum near their area and aimlessly passing it amongst themselves until they got bored and had a zero chance longshot.
(Plus Yaya seemed to be looking for - and finding - forward balls a lot more, which certainly helped)

Quite right. Superb flowing football that we have failed to produce for some time. The first half was a joy to watch. Scintillating movement and quick intelligent passing getting in behind the oppo, who quite frankly, looked bamboozled at times.
City and sniffing knickers.

Sorry Sir DH, had to retire last night... ;-)
Beefy did anticipated me so I just need to make reference to his overall reply.

Additionally - from the very personal point of view of someone who perceive, quite obsessively, football as a midfield-centric game, I'd like to emphasize that yesterday we were far from our best holding set-up: while Your wondering of how much a weaker Barcodes side had easied our free flow going forward, on the same level You should counter-balance it with the fact that we were not as fit to restart the action and possess the park as if the core of the game would had been controlled by Baz and Jaws holding in front of the backs, with the additional, well known benefit to free Yaya, etc.

once said that, I fully appreciate Your general intention at keeping feet on the ground...

Hey.

Can someone here fill in the blanks for me about the game please, I was in work and only saw the highlights from motd, which were ruined by that fat potato talking about geordie shore.

How did Nasri and garcia perfom? I see nasri got the assist and seemed like the player we hoped he would be (from the highlights) but was taken off early?

Bar garcia's goal, it seems from this thread he was doing better than usual or at least improving.
Still here.
