Heard on the radio that he walked onto the pitch just before the start of the second half and had a word with the ref. From there he went over to the lino and gave him a piece of his mind.

I'm sure we'll see the full extent of it butsurely he should've been sent to the stands and then face sanction from the FA. After last weeks rant and no censure will he get away with this one?

I suppose the argument that United fans would present is that every manager does it. However, I struggle to think, off the top of my head, as to another manager who does this so obviously. Warnock, perhaps? Hughes? Wenger (although not with quite as many obscenities)

The frustrating thing, from a non-Manchester United perspective, is that even if they do give Ferguson a touchline ban over this, he can still argue that it's paid dividends in the long run. He got in the officials' head, Man Utd subsequently got the three points, and the world revolves on its 55 degree axis again.

Very true mate. It's frustrating to see that he can have such an effect on the people who are supposedly arbitrating the game. I'm sure nothing will be said which will show the footballing world that he has the power to affect games through his manipulation. Even if the FA say something, ref's will still be weary of going against him as it's not in their interest to pick a fight with him.

The only good thing is that he's cracked again, going over and above in what could have been easily said in the tunnel. Whether he did it for their fans or players, he has made himself look even more senile than ever.

It's a shame that Ferguson 'cracking' isn't made more of by the media. In my opinion, the touchline altercation he had with Mancini was a total embarrassment. To actually say that Mancini was involved in that fracas is false. It was all Ferguson, in an X-rated rant, for no apparent reason.

Yet, we're made to endure the Keegan 'love-it-love-it' crap season after season. Ferguson 'won' the mind games (yawn)

Just this last Sunday, he was asking for a player to be given a lifetime ban. This is something that even a crazy f*ck like Wenger knows is wrong and lands you in hot water with the FA (see his comments re Martin Taylor after his challenge on Eduardo, which were almost immediately retracted)

I unfortunately watched the rag match as I was back in salford over xmas and was with my mates at the pub, they insisted that said pub plays both games on different tellies because they did that when we won the league. was bullshit, I ended up watching this sat next to a geordie lad cheering newcastle on.

anyway... his rant, did not have the desired effect, the decisions in the game were spot on by the ref. he was pissed off because evans the useless cunt scored an own goal and demanded that it was offside.

I've noticed that as well Doug. Apart from the usual sychophants the media seem to be giving him negative column inches more than usual. Shearer even said he was wrong on MotD and questioned whether the FA would sanction him.
