Until the new team is gelling then I cannot start another hate campaign, it is just not fair, so I will wait until the end of January to give my true opinion...........

Your timing couldn't be worse mate, Tevez was exceptional against Liverpool and while I agree he hasn't got to where we know he can yet overall, he has scored 4 or five goals and has similar assists, so to tarnish him with the Lescott brush is a bit unfair IMO.

That said, I think Lescott could be settling...

*crosses fingers and toes*

Good impact as a sub but very wasteful in most games in spite of his work rate. So far only scored against lower league sides and teams he previously played for. Which, so far, makes him a very expensive Darius Vassell...

Exactly!

I want him to be the player he should be as much as anyone, but with his performance and all the crap about retiring is his heart really in it................?

As someone said, the timing of criticism of Tevez is a bit off. He's not been fit, getting fitter and looking better all the time. Last week was definitely his best (half) game and he was THE real influence.

Lets see how he does Saturday eh, maybe linking with Robinho?

Be nice to have 2 people on the same wavelength.

If everyone put in the running effort and commitment that Tevez did I reckon we'd be cooking on gas. Watching him run down goalkeepers is a singular delight. One of these days he's going to catch one on the hoof!!

Let's bring back Dickov, Huckerby and Vassell then - all our problems will disappear overnight.

Stop being so silly. Tevez is a superb football player who is beginning to look like the player that all the top clubs in world football wanted to sign.... and only a knob who doesn't have a breeze about football would compare Carlos Tevez to Paul Dickov and Darius Vassell.

Please do yourself a favour and don't say that in the pub or anything. Everyone around you would piss themselves laughing.

You got me there.... I'm a knob.... in the summer I went on record predicting Tevez is just a rich man's Dickov with better technique.... over the course of a season we will see who turns out to be right (rather than only judging from a 20 minute spell against Liverpool)
I must remember to get a new signature.....

Indeed. And because they will not be so fucking stupid as to not understand my point they will be saying "true, true" while they laugh. Effort alone isn't enough, if you cannot see that point then you are the knob. I know full well Tevez is capable of more but was commenting on his form for us so far. People having to resort to his headless chicken antics to defend him just shows how relatively poor he has been!

The quality of Carlos is a matter of opinion but besides the Dippers I cant recall any of the top clubs in the world showing an intrest in him. Besides some rumours in the papers.
From my recollection we were the only ones who bid for him

I think that's a bit harsh RH as we were the only ones with the money and priced Scum out of it. Plus the soft bugger wouldn't move his son away from his new school, so it was just us or Scum, no point in anyone else trying.

Chelski were linked with lots of people and still are, but nothing ever seems to happen does it? Now big talk of Ribery, Aguero, Villa and evrybody else. I'm not too sure myself, I think Roman still has a tight grip on expenditure, after all they owe him £700M! Whilst they're top I cant see him spending loads of dosh at all.

Ok so a few of you said Tevez is a "rich man's Vassell", or a "talented Dickov".

How talented? How rich a man are we talking about? Because on this basis, John Terry is a talented Titus Bramble and Shay Given is a rich man's Kasper Smeichel....

It's all a bit silly really and putting Dickov and Vassell in the same sentence as Tevez is something only City fan would do because we're used to having dross players who worked hard...

I stick by the notion that neutral fans around the world would piss themselves laughing if this comparisson was made.

And one of you said I based my opinion of Tevez on 20 mins against Liverpool? Daft cunt, I've watched Tevez for years and I know full well why he has the tag of being world class....

And for those who didn't seem to know, Madrid wanted Tevez, as stated by his advisor but he turned them down first and foremost because he wanted to stay in England. He then dismissed Liverpool because he felt it was a "tribal" thing. He didn't want to move from Manchester and turned down Chelsea. And of course he chose us over the scum. All was confirmed by Kia Jorabchian.

So the clubs that went for him (the ones that were confirmed anyway):

Real Madrid
Manchester United
Chelsea
Liverpool
City

Some of THE biggest clubs in the world.

That is for a DAMN good reason and what we saw in the last half hour of the Liverpool game is the real Tevez and Paul Dickov or Darius Vassell would never have showed the ball control and creation of space that Tevez did.

He is worlds apart from the players mentioned and like he has done at all of his clubs, he will continue to be imperitive to our where we want to be.

Agree with all of the above. Tevez is a world class player.
