Doubt either will happen but I also doubt Nastasic will ever be as good at cb as Micah would if he stayed fit. At 18 he was miles better than Nasty is now. I remember him playing an absolute blinder v Henry often stopping him 1v1. The same player would tear Nasty a new arsehole.

Injuries are the big worry though & have curtailed his career so far.

your obsession with nastasic is getting more carl-like every day!

imagine the double ended shit storm we'll face when nasti and joleon anchor the defence this weekend vs watford...

I think my heart would break if Micah left before he was in his 40s.

Put me in the Micah could be our best cb camp as well. Injuries are a massive problem, but should he get an extended run healthy, he and Vinny could be the greatest cb combo we've ever had.

Under Sven he was our best player bar none and that was as a teenager. Last season he was shit hot at rb, he's got so much ability it's unbelievable, it's just a matter of how far he takes it. He's already one of the best fullbacks in the world on his day, a season or two playing and improving and you never know.

I have barely mentioned any of the myriad of cock ups Nastasic has made recently.

Imo Micah Richards is a better 3rd choice cb than Nastasic. The thread is about Micah Richards & the comment I was replying to was about Micah playing cb. I don't think nastasic will ever be better than him provided Micah can actually get fit for a decent spell. I have always thought he was a cb.

Any player who gets a regular shirt who imo doesn't deserve it, gets the same. If Bob picks Kolarov every week instead of Clichy & he does not merit it, I will be saying the same. If Nastasic plays better than Lescott or Vinny or Micah, I will back his selection.

I said it about Boateng & got shit for it & I said it about Savic & got shit for it. I actually rate Nastasic. I rate Rekik too. Just neither as current top 4 cbs.

But Richards is right footed and we all know Bob's preference for a left / right combo at centre half, because that's the only reason why Lescott can't get a look in when Kompany is absent ;)

Could Rafa Benitez Sensationally Take Micah Richards To Stamford Bridge?

Micah Richards watched Chelsea lose to QPR last night at Stamford Bridge and after the match Rafa Benitez failed to rule out the prospect of the Manchester City joining the club.

Richards has been out of action for most of the season but quite incredibly arrived at the main entrance of Stamford Bridge an hour before kick off last night.

After the Chelsea suffered the shock home defeat at the hands of the Premier League side who had only won a solitary game prior to this Benitez told reporters that he would not talk about the players of other team, when questioned he replied, he simply replied, “We don’t discuss other teams players.”

It is not yet known how Manchester City will respond to Richards' visit to the West London, but they will be surprised that the Spaniard did not dismiss the speculation when he was quizzed on the prospect of a transfer.

Chelsea have relied on central defender Branislav Ivanovic to play at right back in the past, although Cesar Azpilicueta has played the last five games.

Why ask Benitez? He's hardly in charge of player acquisition, is he? He's hardly in charge of picking the team on match days, come to that.

He was very lucky at cb and was covered for by Dunne.

My memory is that we had that long run of great games because we had such a new look team no one knew how to play against us. Soon as someone figured us out the rest followed and it all fell apart, including Micah at cb.

He didn't seem clever enough or aware of space around him. No anticipation either.

I'd hope now he is older and more experienced he could try again.

Mate I remember Micah being the one tracking the danger more often not. Certainly at least 50/50. There was a reason teams were looking at spending silly money on him.
