Did the owner say something to the manager? If the owner didn't say anything to the manager about the player then the manager is a very silly boy for putting words in the owner's mouth and I'd suggest the owner will not be too impressed with the manager if in fact the manager had put words in the owner's mouth.

Who gives a flying fuck what the owner thinks of balotelli? He might like the shirts he's selling or the profile he has, but there's no way he likes the terrible publicity he brings or the mainly ineffective contribution he gives.

The owner wants a barca style club. A fantastic profile with superstar players.

All that aside, we are discussing what WE think of him.
There's no point in launching into each thread telling everyone what the owner wants during a discussion about a player and his ability.

This from the BBC:
Controversial striker Mario Balotelli is playing for Manchester City under-21 team this afternoon and has scored twice as the Blues lead 4-0 against Blackburn Rovers.

Seems to be doing a good job. I don't know if he was sent off or not !

Any publicity, good or bad, is good publicity. We are going to have to live with him. The way I see it, things can only get better.

I am particularly tired of our 4th best striker acting like he's Lionel Messi, Ronaldo and Pele all rolled into one without ever actually backing it up with a performance that grabs a match and wins it for us, as the team kicks and screams and conspires to throw it all away(think Tevez).

Quite frankly I think it's disgusting. The filth wouldn't get this crapshower from Hernandez, Barca wouldn't get it from Tello and Bayern wouldn't get it from Pizarro. He is a bit part player, he should get his head down, work his fucking bollocks off and earn a place in the team, perform on matchday like his 'potential' claims he can and then maybe we've got a player even worthy of discussing, right now he is as relevant to me and to City's fortunes as Guidetti is.

I don't want to boo him, I don't want to cheer him. I just want to see the player £170,000/week buys and in 2½ years it hasn't happened yet.

Don't see any mention of the Sheikh in your post. Every single person on this board that complains about Balo not a single one of you has complained about the Sheikh support of him and the fact that he likes the attention he brings to the club.

So your entire point rest of me not mentioning something I didn't know about?

Maybe you should focus on what I wrote and not what I didn't....or neither, couldn't care less TBH.

Just an idea; when that French cunt kept getting sent off playing for the scum, Ferguson told him to just not bother trying to tackle anybody.

We seem to be encouraging Mario to try & tackle people. How about telling him not to do it anymore & just to occupy space defensively & stand in the way without actually tackling anybody, like Nastasic does ? (*joke*)

You mean, has what tevez done on the pitch made up for what he did off it over the last three years?

IMO without a doubt.

I agree Ted. He was criticised by fans and manager last year for not working hard enough. So now he spends half his time in midfield, gives away free kicks on the edge of our box and never scores.

Once heard an interview with Fowler where he was talking about meeting Jimmy Greaves whilst Fowler was still young and good. Greaves said something along the lines of 'you chase defenders down, drop deep, pick the ball up in midfield, track back - what the hell are you doing that for? Your job is to score goals. The other 10 players are there to work and give you the ball to score them'

Aguero and Tevez can do both, but maybe we should look at a system where Dzeko or Mario can just stand up front and put the ball in the net. From the limited bits I've seen of Falcao and Cavani, they'd play in a similar way to Mario or Edin, so would we have the same problems if we blew a shed load on either of them? And if Tevez and Aguero were to leave, there aren't many similar players who could do that job

Cavani is a grafter tbf. He's very good when they lose the ball, which may tip the scales in his favour when it comes to signing for City. It's clear Mario is making a big effort to try & do what people have told him to do. Some refuse to see it, but I bloody well can.

Top clubs throughout Europe have hard work as part of the DNA. Mario is not better than a ton of players we could name, in fact based on what we have seen he is over rated and the luckiest mofo to have ever got a 170 bags a week. fuck me we are 7 points of the rags surely the manager has to focus on the games, the opos, and getting the squad firing us into great form which will give us a chance to retain the League trophy. FFS he would not get anywhere near the 1st team at Bayern, Dortmund, RM, Barca, PSG, RAGS.
All have forwards better than him at all aspects of the game. When he starts he is supposed to be the 1st line of defence, Muller, Gomez, Messi, Villa, Pedro, Zlatan, Lavezzi, Ronaldo, Higuain, Cavanni would make him look a twat if he signed. His link up play his energy and what he is paid for are below average and that is being kind. Mancini thinks different ok prove it. What we saw at the Euros on his own by the way or fuck off.

Ibrahamovic and Cantona came good after early travails. Other bad boys have fallen by the wayside. Balotelli is near that make or break age where he is expected to behave as an adult. Having invested so much in time, City would be mad to get rid at such a critical stage of his life. Better to gamble he will come good and prove to be a truly great player than to bin mid season.

As Oscar Levant said "There's a fine line between genius and insanity". Time to review Mario at City is at the end of the season. His game for U21's could be the start of his redemption.

100% agree. If Yaya and Ibrahimovic have trained with him daily and see him as a future great, than I believe too. You hardly ever see 2 of the top 10 players in the world praise the ability of a young player within a month of each other. And when they do you should listen.

Or, you may be a gullible cunt.

Checked who Ibrahimovic's agent is recently?

Is there any reason at all you can think of why he may randomly endorse a player out of the blue?

It could be, I hope so, but it has to be.

All this '100 chances' stuff is bollocks. He has to become an effective player for City & make a telling contribution to the club & he has to do it this season, in fact; now.

IMO without a doubt.

In fact I have already stated that MY ENRAGED ISSUE with Herman went over when I saw him starting by hugging each and every team mates before kick off. He certainly redeemed his sins with a top professianal attitude and several top performance, since the Club, in a way or another, has sorted THE KIA ISSUE. and we always knew that Tezez issue has always been the Kia issue, for every Club.

I was only, playfully, pointed out that Tevez's 1 year and more long professional attempts to undermine the Club (according to his Master's plans), has caused far more damage and embarrassment to MCFC than all the fireworks fired by Mario's mates from Mario's bathroom and so on.
Still, and again, far from a Mario lover and his total unreliebility, while Tevez has been pivotal to take us to may,13th, Mario and Sergio won us the League playing a combined magic that I don't has seen replicated by Team since.
