It seems to be 433 with Evans playing in the middle on his own. Lopes I think is supposed to come deep when we lose possession. Ntcham is on the left and bytyqi on the right.

City have prob had 80% possession but not much in the way of chances. The way they play is startlingly like the first team but unfortunately Facey is no Zabba.

Cole has looked tricky. Thanks to Doug raising expectation I've been dissapointed with oozing ;-)
Lopes has been the best I've seen him bar a shocking miss. Burnley are singing he's a shit Tevez!

We were much better second half. the wide men tucked inside and that seemed to work for us. Nticham proceeded to run the show from the off with protection from Evans our goal was never threatened.

The similarities to the first team where frightening, no width, only width coming from the full backs, struggled to break down sides in their final third.

Lopes scored a good goal

Pozo seemed to come alive second half and scored a terrific goal.

Facey covered well defensively second half.

Greg Leigh was the stand out talent for me (left back)

Nticham ran the second half.

they worked hard, pressed hard, played well, I look forward to the round of 16 next! (especially without the filth in it)

I actually like the idea that we are finding the same problems as the first team, as it means we will have more people looking at the problem & eventually find ways to solve it.

I was criticising Lombardo for not getting the EDS to pass & move like the 1st team, so if he's managing it now with the youth team, even if it's got the same faults and all, I say well done to him.

Sorry Bobby I don't know how I didn't see this thread when I go in. All spot on commentary.

Like Ted I was sort of happy that we were playing the same way as the first team withe concern that we weren't really finding ways around it.No doubt at all the 2nd half improved a lot with the changes Lombardo made but I am not 100% sure why it took to the 2nd half to do it.

I was a little disappointed with Lopes in the first half albeit the team shape didn't help him but it did always feel just a matter of time before we got the goal that would win it.Quite a few of the fancied sides have gone out already so we must have a real chance of winning it.I hope the next round is at home so we can improve on the 2,500 crowd.

I notice that the lad Celina, who replaced Pozo, was a Norwegian who we seem to have aquired from Strømsgodset . Whilst briefly looking him up, I stubled upon another lad who is listed as a City player; Godsway Donyoh, who I think is on loan at Djurgården. These plus the lad we mentioned yesterday; I've never heard of any of these before now. I wonder how many more are lurking around the world ?

We will find out in the next 2 years but I would imagine quite a few.I had never heard of or seen Celina before but from the 3 minutes he was on it was clear that he can play :)

I too looked up Celina. It is correct that he came from Strømsgodset, City's 'partner club' in Norway. He is only 16, but had his debut already as a 15 year old at senior level for Strømsgodset's reserve team. As discussed in another thread, Norway has the same system as Spain and others, with the reserve teams competing in the national league pyramid.
