City have appealed the red card Vincent Kompany was shown during Sunday's 2-0 win at Arsenal.

The Blues' skipper was given his marching orders by referee Mike Dean after 76 minutes for a tackle on Jack Wilshere and, if upheld, he will miss the next three games.

We will bring you the FA's decision on mcfc.co.uk when the appeal process is complete.

AND RIGHTLY SO.
It's about time we start to go public with demand for respect. whether it'll be overuled or not, it changes nothing.
Everyone, including cunts like whilshire, must be aware that MCFC won't let it go unnoticed any further.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

Playing devils advocate, as Kompany is clearly a very intelligent footballer and guy why did he feel the need to make that challenge, knowing the way the game and referees interpret it when you do go in like that? Yes he was focused on the ball, and no I dont think it was a red card but it gave the Ref an opportunity he was looking for to level things up. There was a 20 minute spell in the 2nd half where Dean was clearly influenced by the crowd and gave Arse every decision in sight, topping it off with the Red Card. After that, he settled down again and reffed the final 15 mins fairly again.

As soon as I saw the challenge my reaction was that Dean will give him a Red for that, whether its justified or not, but I cant see why Kompany felt the need to leave his feet there at all.

He made the wrong decisions throughout the game. Some good defending too when needed but many rash moments & was one of the 1st players to become really sloppy after Arsenal were reduced to ten.

From what I understand, the Ref is not involved in the appeals process. It's a 3 man panel that looks into it and decide one way or another.

I think that he was a little surprised that the Arsenal player lost control of the ball and had to adjust himself immediately to make the tackle. There was no malice in it at all.

Very surprised to see a red card.

It wouldn't be much of a risk in appealing it - not really the kind of case to justify additional punishment due to pointless appeal.

I think however too that it was a shame that the ref reached for the red in the other incident. It was a definite penalty, but a red card so early was probably an over-reaction.

edited for accuracy

not sure if this has been posted yet?

from OS: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/20 ... y-reaction

Vincent Kompany took to Twitter to launch his defence after a 74th minute dismissal in City's 2-0 win over Arsenal.
The 26-year old was adjudged to have used excessive force in the challenge which saw him join Laurent Koscielny in the dressing room during a hot blooded encounter at the Emirates Stadium.

Kompany refused to openly criticize referee Mike Dean but hinted that he would be appealing the decision on his Twitter account @VincentKompany.

"Massive congrats to our team and fans, great game! Also. No grudges against the referee, I understand the difficulty of the job," the 26-year old tweeted.

"About the tackle: If the ball is overrun by the opponent and a 50/50 challenge occurs, collision is inevitable."

The defender then posted a link to a picture which appears to show him sliding in with one foot, in control of his body.

"Ultimately I'm a defender: Appeal may work or not. I will never pull out of a challenge, as much as I will never intend to injury a player," he stated.

"It's about the team and our team looks strong at the moment. We need to maintain this level of performance."

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker agreed with Vincent's take on the challenge and Vincent offered to give quotes to Sunday night's edition of Match of the Day 2 to explain the incident.

Roberto Mancini also fumed at the decision which could leave City without their captain for three games.

"It was not a sending off – I have seen the TV replays and he goes in with his left foot with his right foot trailing behind - it was not a sending off” Mancini said.

Kompany risks being banned for a further match if he launches an unsuccessful appeal - a ban which would see him miss the Liverpool visit at the start of February.

We'll let you know if Vincent does go ahead with the appeal and what the FA's decision is here on mcfc.co.uk.
