They are all mithering Platini to change thge format of the Champions League, same as they got him to introduce FFP. Once he gets 6 in there instead of 4, the cartel is in business again.

@ Ashton
Sorry pal but you are really burying your head here Mate and missing what is not conspiracy theory but a conspiracy reality. The reality of the G14's demands being acceded to following the threat by Karl Heinz Rumminigge to Platini and UeFA (on behalf of the elite clubs) "...to close the UeFA shop".
I suggest you do a bit of research and look at the make up of officers and committees that control UeFA and their policies. Also, check out the power set up in the ECA . Then if you have time Mate, look who represents UeFA on the committees that dictate policies at FIFA. It is and always has been far too easy to look at Blatter and Platini as simple idiots. The real power lies behind them in the corridors at the swamp, Emirates, Anfield, San Siro, Bernabeu, Camp Nou, the Allianz and the replacement for the Stadio delle Alpi.

All the information is there for all to see. Sadly , not in the popular media, you have to scratch a bit deeper but it is all there Mate...Honest.

I think the biggest problem is that the overwhelming majority of fans still define football as it always was, a game on the pitch between two teams. The overwhelming majority of fans are emotionally attached to their club and are only interested in how their club are playing.
Football at and near the top, ceased to be that simple animal many many years ago. Football at the top is strictly business. Owned by rich moguls in a multi billion, multi global market....and most fans couldn't give a shit as long as their team are picking up the points.

What has and is happening in the corridors of power doesn't concern ordinary fans as long as their expectations are being met on the field and in the League table, Should those expectations not be met, they are often happy to simply pin the blame on managers and referees (or the Venkys). City fans and even myself to a great extent fit that model. Yesterday, the conniving corruption of Arsenal and the plans they have to fuck my club weren't in my mind as Dzeko missed his pen, Milner then Edin put us ahead and the red cards were shown. My only priority was that get the points and keep the pressure on the rags.

The BBC, that public service servant of British culture, reflected back on the red cards, goal of the month etc but never once has it ever sought to address the bigger issues of football corruption. Why should it? Why should it bite the hand that feeds it the audiences to back up its arguments for a higher licence fee? Why should it?

I will also reiterate a word of warning I 1st mentioned some time ago: Keep a watchful eye on our owners too. Since they took over, they have been careful and responsible stewards of our great club. They have respected our club's culture and history...but why? Because it suits their needs to do so as they build us into massively powerful club. At present, their interests run hand in hand with ours. We need them and sure as hell, they need us....at the moment. But please be aware that some years from now when City possibly sit at the head of the very top table, our interests may be different.

When the ground if full to overflowing and there is a long waiting list for season tickets. When our blue market extends around the globe and we have become a global brand and not a football club. When they no longer need us....WHAT THEN????

REMEMBER, THERE WAS A TIME, NOT THAT LONG AGO, WHEN THE RAGS TOO WERE A FOOTBALL CLUB.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

There will surely be a number of ways of getting around this.

A players wage can be supplemented outside of the club. Take Sergio for example, what is stopping us paying him £60,000 a week through MCFC books and then Sheik Mansour paying him £5 million as an apperance fee too appear in Abu Dhabi for a weekend footballing school giving him the extra £100,000 a week.

There is a greater chance that this will create more foreign oligarch's buying prem clubs. the cost of buying everton, spurs or some other well supported mid table club will drop significantly as there is no precieved value in investing, but if some well connected billionairre buys them, he can manipulate the rules.

I actually employed one of Giorgio Kinkladzes best mates in Greece (He was greek georgian) and he told me that Franny alledgedly bought Kinky a 500 k house in switzerland to sweeten the deal.

I got signed shirts and boots from this same guy.....(abusing my power etc....as you do)

So to summise , yes, there are many many ways to get round the shitty FFP rules.

I doubt Platini will be given access to any details of property developments in Abu Dhabi.

If you look at all the ex cabinet ministers who couldn't accept money or gifts when in power, but now have 'consultancy' jobs with companies, many of whom coincidentally they gave contracts etc to, it shows how easy it is, even at the highest level.

In a nutshell.

In 1919 United and Liverpool colluded to fix a match so both teams remained in the top flight. That same year the division was being expanded by a further 2 teams. Arsenal who finished 6th in division 2 (later changed to 5th) were allowed into the top flight after bribing the commitee that included the chairmen of Liverpool and United (at the expense of Spurs no less).

They have been corruptly looking after the interests of each other ever since.

For the lawyers.....The above is all 'alleged' to have happened.

Barclay is an ugly, bitter human being, he encapsulates everything that is wrong with British journalism and is a sycophant to the red 3 - This is not alleged.

Apparently we (the club) are preparing legal action against the power play by United/Arsenal/Liverpool/Spurs to bring in UEFA's FFP rules to the PL. [Express]

MANCHESTER CITY OWNER SHEIKH MANSOUR LEGAL BID TO TACKLE PREMIER LEAGUE CASH ROW

MANCHESTER CITY will go to war with neighbours United and other leading Premier League rivals over the financial support they can receive from their Abu Dhabi billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour.

City are prepared to make a legal challenge to attempts by Liverpool, United, Tottenham and Arsenal to toughen up UEFA’s financial fair play rules for Premier League clubs.

A letter from those four clubs to Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore calls for full spending controls – where clubs must break even – without wealthy owners, such as City’s sheikh and Roman Abramovich at Chelsea, being allowed to cover the losses.

City and Chelsea are opposing any spending controls being brought in but it is likely the 20 clubs will agree on a compromise at their February meeting, which will allow a fixed amount of losses to be covered by owners.

The letter from the four clubs states: “Thank you for your continued work on the vital subject of Financial Regulation for the Premier League.

“However, we do not feel the latest proposals go far enough to curb the inflationary spending which is putting so much pressure on clubs across the entire League.

“We continue to believe that to be successful and have the best chance of gaining at least the 14 votes necessary, any proposals for Financial Regulation must include meaningful measures to restrict the owner funding of operating losses.”

City and Chelsea are opposing any spending controls being brought in but it is likely the 20 clubs will agree on a compromise at their February meeting

West Brom and Fulham also oppose any spending controls, while the other 12 clubs favour some form of compromise solution.
City have been trying to reduce their reliance over the last year.

They made a pre-tax loss of £93.4million for last season, when they won the Premier League title, down from £189.6m in 2010-11. But officials admit they face a struggle to comply with UEFA’s financial rules which allow for losses of only £35m a season until 2014 when clubs must start to break even.

My English MUST BE worst than anyone's - ever - cause I cannot see anything conflicting with any part of my BRIGHT stance, there!
I should perhaps consider to elect Tokio, for a language arbitration.... mmhh...
Where did I say that the Club will never use weapons/menaces/threats/power to keep the twats at bay???? WHERE?

You must be very tired, Dad, if You confuse me with R_H.

Yet, as I love You, I am gonna try and help You, using a very basical English:
To say that a set of rules shall never affect the ultimate aim of a plan, does not equate to say that no actions/counter measures shall never put in place to prevent oppositions' aims.
Browse back onto dozens of my posts on subject matter and You'll find plenty of samples of them. The above news is just one, widely expected and debated, of those.
Have You ever heard about the Newton's Third Law of Dynamic? (perhaps You call it motion, I may be mistaken, there)

Than, at the end of the day, because You are my Lord, while I am the humble courtesan, if You want me to genuflect on here.... here I am, my Lord!
.... Just stop to embarrass Your bright mind with this FFP comedy.... :-)
