Net effect on the accounts of between +9m and +18m, depending on fee (assuming in 17-23m range) and wage settlements...

Great, we can celebrate wenger style.

Bollox to that. We need a replacement because we're trying to win trophies. If the difference between us complying to ffp is 20m plus wages then let the best legal team in the world put that shit to bed.

What are the chances we'll be drawing AC Milan in Champions League this summer ...

Genuinely heartbroken.

He didn't stand a chance as soon as the media started getting on his back and making stories up about him.

I'll remember his performances in the Semi and the Cup final where we won the FA Cup. And of course his celebration in front of the rag fans afterwards which caused Wio to lose his rag.

I wish him nothing but the best of luck and I hope he smashes it and becomes the best player in the world.

I'm very interested in how much the deal is worth though? He has over 2 years left to run on his contract hasn't he? Can't see it being less than £20 mil surely?

Correct me if I'm wrong but if 2 years remain on the contract and he's on £150k a week that would be £15.6 mil buyout to start with? Or have I got it totally wrong?

Balotelli had a book value of £11m. City also save £3m wages & £2.3m amortization this season.
So £20m fee leaves City £14.3m better off.

I think the business with the fine split up Bob & Mario's marriage. We will sign a biggie in the summer.

Imo if Bob had sanctioned the sale of Mario pre season, we would have replaced him with a big signing then, probably Van Persie but possibly Cavani; Bob loves Cavani I'veheard & asks about him every season. Was never likely to be 4 strikers plus RVP or Cavani though.

Dzeko to Dortmund (or somewhere in Germany possibly) and Cavani in ... likely this summer ... but how we'd love for it to happen tomorrow!

Well, this is more likely the scenario now, but I find it hard to believe we'd ship him out in a difficult window instead of having him as back up and selling him for more in the Summer.

Napoli have a chance to the win the league for the first time in an age, with cavani scoring the late winner to put them within 3 points of juve the other night. Letting him go would be ludicrous.

If we could just sweeten the deal enough for barca to part with villa it would really put us in line to keep our trophy.

Oh well, good luck to Mario.

I really liked him and hoped for him to succeed bigtime.

He gave us a dimension, off the field more than anything, no other team had.

Just the way he made rags shit their undies...

Every fucking opportunity. And to think there are still blind idiots, on this very site, that take the piss out of us for being able to see what's nearly impossible not to.

I think the seeds of this were sewn last season when he blew it at Arsenal & Bob did his fruit saying he'd never play for us again, then pretended he hadn't meant it. He decided to give him another shot but fined him, then Mario tried to contest it. Then we had the Mancini overeaction v the rags, the bust up on the training ground; Balotelli hasn't really figured as a player for City this season, just a set of cameos. The fact that he didn't even start v Watford was bizarre.

If we don't replace him right now, we won't be any worse off because he hasn't contributed anything this season.

Will we bring someone else in? Mancini has said our squad is not big enough to let Mario go, so surely he has someone lined up to replace him. Fantastic talent, not mature enough to bring it to the table. Shame

Best guess is +£14m in this year's accounts as BBC are saying £19m rising to £22m with add ons. Sorry for living in the real world.

A couple of injuries at the pointy end might mean that ends up not being true. We could be worse off by relying on someone that isn't as capable, or indeed fit.

Now, if you think he was sold to help comply with the ffp shit you are obsessed with, then you are every bit as much detached from the real world as ever.

We can't rely on Mario though. If we could trust him to come in & lead the line, then it would be a loss to the squad, but we can't & if we had to rely on him, we would be fucked anyway.

Why would we sign Sinclair, Maicon & Rodwell then sell Balotelli if it was purely for FFP ? We would just have kept Balotelli instead.
