Next: Liverpool at Etihad

Postby AG7 » Thu Jan 31, 2013 2:29 pm

Manchester City v Liverpool
Sunday 3rd February 2013 - Kick-off: 4pm
Referee: Anthony Taylor

Kompany out, Nastasic back, Balo gone ... and Nasri remains.

How will Mancini set this one up, only he knows ... but given that the scum play Fulham on Saturday we will most probably be looking at a 10 point gap come Sunday, which only means one thing, this is a fucking do or die game as far as Title race is concerned.

Spurs had done us a favor and for a few days we went to a 5 point gap and what do we do with it, hand them that draw right back ... and that too against the bottom of the table club. It's time the gap starts to shrink, not grow ... so come Saturday night it'll most probably be 10 points ... and come Sunday night, if we haven't gotten it back to 7 ... we might as well make the FA Cup our top priority.

No, not even a draw here will do!

My preferred line-up:

Hart
Zaba - Nasti - Lescott - Clichy
Barry - Garcia
Milner - Tevez - Silva
Aguero

C'mon City ... it's seven more games till the visit to the swamp, make them win all their next seven if they want to keep any gap.

The thieving bindipping cunts are lethal upfront when that bucktoothed cunt gets the ball , we will need to nullify him or we will get fucked over , sturridge and him are starting to show a great pairing upfront.

This game will be a HUGE game for us.

I think we've got more than enough to wallop this mid-table team of mediocrity. However, whether we've got enough to cope with all of their 'istry as well is another matter.

I'd be happy with Garcia again at the back with Lescott. He's better in the air than Nastasic, who is also not great in one-on-one situations which could be a worry against Suarez.

I'd also be happy to give Sinclair a start. He did well in his 5 minutes against QPR and Nasri shouldn't be in the squad, never mind the first 11. I've almost lost patience with Nasri and think I'd be happy to let him go in the summer.

Saying that, I think Mancini will put Nastasic back in defence, move Garcia into midfield and drop Nasri. Or he'll do something completely different and play Kolarov left wing.

I would come out and charge with high pressure like against Stoke last 30 min if is a do or die go from start not in 70 min.
Hart
Zaba - Nasti - Lescott - Clichy
Barry - Garcia
Aguero - Silva- Tevez
Edin
but i doubt Bob will do something like this

Liverpool have proven most recently that they don't have the fitness for 95 minute games.

We just need to wear them down ,chances will come. Let's hope we can improve the conversion ratio

I don't think he'll play all three of our strikers when we only have a half fit Guidetti as cover - and I HOPE that means Milner out wide rather then Nasri, although I wouldnt mind seeing Sinclair get a game. It could well be Rodwell alongside Barry if Milner is wide, or Milner deep with Sinclair/Nasri wide. Kind of hard to predict what Bob will do sometimes. (I'm assuming Garcia will be in defence again).

Graham Poll:

Manchester City v Liverpool – Referee Anthony Taylor G15 YC30 RC5 YC/G 2.0. Assistants: A Garratt & A Halliday.

Coming from Manchester can mean complications for a referee as the city is home to the top two teams.

Taylor has not refereed City since October 2011 and the last time he refereed United they lost 0-1at Norwich.

Referees are asked if they feel they should not be appointed to certain teams each season and the fact that Taylor lists neither, despite living in the City, shows his confidence in his belief of his impartiality.

This game will not be easy as Liverpool are improving and Taylor could well oversee another defeat for his other home city club

Mancini will not play nasti and lescott in the same cb pairing. Two left footers (or right) is something he won't do.

If the word from upstairs is he HAS to play 433 then we need silva in the top 3 and a solid mobile pacey midfield behind. Giving Barry the benefit of doubt of course. Just forcing silva into a birth in the middle 3 means all our forward 3 go walk-a-bout looking for the ball, even Edin.

Hart
Zabs Garcia. Lescott. Clichy
Milner. Barry. Rodwell
Silva. Tevez. Augero

Subs, Edin for tevez and Sinclair for whoever is knackered. No place for pussy nasri.

Dzeko MUST start, Liverpool have shown lately that they can't deal with big strikers. They lost to Stoke (Jones), Villa (Benteke) and Oldham (the lad who used to stack shelves) and in all three the centre halves shat themselves. It's a no brainer.

I'd also start Tevez on the bench as he was average the other night. Nasri's absence goes without. Go at them from the start and keep the likes of Glen Johnson pegged back as he's dangerous going forward, Milner can do a job there.

Silva to start centrally and dictate the play until we settle.

Still not sure if Mancini will plays Nasti and Lescott together as they're both left footed (he brought on Kolo over Lescott in the derby remember).

I'd go -

------------------------------Hart------------------------------

Zabaleta----------Nastasic-------Lescott--------------Clichy

-------------------Garcia------------------Barry---------------

Milner-----------------------Silva------------------------Aguero

------------------------------Dzeko------------------------------

I thought the shelf-stacker was one hell of a lot more of a handfull in the air than Dzeko!

Considering we have battered the dippers 3-0 at the Etihad on the last two meetings the betting odds being offered are quite strange imho for tomorrows game .....

City decent odds to win @ 4/5

Dippers surprisingly short at just 3/1 to win ?

Draw a huge 14/5 !
Not really here

3/1 is a very decent price in a game played between 2 teams. A tenner on to win 40 back is very tempting, I'dhave thought they'd be much lower.
