Love it if we signed Cavani. Good feet, good in the air... Falcao isn't a bad second choice though ;)

Both Cavani and ESPECIALLY Falcao would be useless unless they get steady stream of chances. Neither of them is the kind who create their own chances and both of them play in a team whose only aim is to create them chances. People just look their inflated numbers but it's not as simple as that. Oh, and neither of them is better than Aguero for example.

We realy need to solve this midfield issue first. Then maybe see if we need more firepower up front.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Disagree entirely re: carving out their own chances. ESPECIALLY in the case of Falcao. He's great at making something out of almost nothing.

Once he has the ball in and around the box maybe.

We dont get the ball into any dangerous area of the final third often enough, and when we do get it near the box the forward has to find a way through a sea of 22 legs and therefore it is not a danger to the defence generally

I'd wager neither has ever had to face this in their career

I don't believe we need to sign a talisman so to speak but we do need 2 very good signings. If Tevez signs a new contract or isn't sold in the summer, then I would love us to sign Bale as he is quick, a wide player but has versatile to play in a number of positions, creates something out of nothing and would give us width and an extra dimension.

If we sold Tevez then a forward would become the number one priority without doubt and I would opt for Cavani, slightly younger than Falcao and to me looks top class.

None of the options are going to come cheap and it remains to be seen who we sell to help create funds as with the impending FFP rules at home and abroad, the days of us spending £100m and recouping £10m are gone.

I thought I'd dig this up so more of you can change your vote to Bale.

Don't mention it.

Excellent performance again from Bale - he's found some real consistency this season and is turning into a top player.

Heart celebration aside, I would love to see him at City. He would cost a fortune though, and I'm not sure I'd like to give Spurs such a huge amount of money, but he would significantly improve our squad, whilst massively weakening theirs.

A) You just did.
B) As his goals/contribution have been the difference, it's a more than valid question.
C) If you're above giving your opinion in the thread due to the wording of its title, well...

On current form and because he's used to the Prem, it has to be Bale for me as well.

Problem with bale is, when he plays his natural position on the left Wing, he can be easy to keep quiet if plan for it, we've done it before and the rags did it at white hart lane. And it would be pointless buying him as a forward, as we have three already.

I would like three new signings if the current squad stays as it is.
1) Cavani - different type of striker to what we already have.
2) Reus - quick winger with bags of skill
3) Isco - young and talented playmaker to provide more options for attacking.

Only problem buying these match winning players is that without balance throughout the team, we will be exposed, especially in the CL.
The formation and tactics will be even more important if we but all these attacking players.

Reus is great on the break, lethal in front of goal, but otherwise a bit of a passenger. I'd rather have Gotze, who has twice the technique & ten times the vision. I'll also throw in Gundogan while we're talking about Dortmund players. Fantastic midfielder.

I'm still not sure about Cavani. Not for the figures mentioned anyway. Don't see what he'd offer that our three strikers don't possess.
