I think if you demand a sacking, you should come clean and tell us your choice.
Mancini out...but who in?

Gillie,
On the face of it I would agree about the MIlner thing Mate but what we don't know is the info privy to Mancini from the sports medical team. That group who advise on energy levels, overplaying and who can predict when a player's energy levels are about to drop.

Maybe that was the case with Milner and he wouldn't be fit for purpose in the future. It's the only reason I can think of that could make any sense. But like you I am groping in the dark.

Well John i think it was a major fuck up by Bob as apart from a brief cameo for England Milner had almost a full weeks rest.

Yeh lets get Mourinho then everything will be alright won't it??! Unbelievable. This the same Mourinho that is in charge of Madrid who are lagging off the place in La Liga.

Also if we bring Mourinho in, are you going to go and tell the builders at Etihad Campus to stop working on that construction because as much as he may be a fine manager, introducing youngsters is not his forte so not point in building it is there.

Also he only sticks around for 2 or 3 years at a time so where is the long-term planning or has that gone out the window because we aint going to win the league this season!!

And to top it off, lets do a Chelsea and sack a manager a year after winning the league because that is really what United would have done with Ferguson or Liverpool with their managers or Arsenal with Wenger. I mean get a grip, Mancini has won 2 trophies for us and has tonnes of managerial credit in the bank with the job he has done at City, let him deal with the job.

Teams have ups and downs, lets face it in all reality we will finish 2nd this season and we may or may not win a trophy, hardly a fucking disaster is it.

Was I happy about tonight's result, the performance or the fact that the title race was over tonight, no. But I am not wanting our very successful manager sacked either.

Its a good while ago, so it isn't really that fair.
For what it's worth, my stance at the time was that I didn't particularly want to see Hughes sacked.

Leaves a nasty taste in the tongue all of this.

It's been a year since Tevez last lost the plot, so he is due one. Tevez is still a very good player but given he only has 18 months left on his contract, he would head my list of who I would like sold in the summer.

Hopefully it is just a few idiots in the aftermath of a bad defeat mate, but in all seriousness all of us wanted a successful team and successful manager and to be looking to the future, we have got all three, but instead we have people wanting to rip it all up and start over again because of a bad result or two.

Perceptions I guess. All fans feel hurt when our team has a bad day. He just strikes me as someone that wouldn't tolerate such a display.

Maybe it's just that Mancini is more tactful and less red faced afterwards!

At least someone has still their head screwed on.

I thought yesterday was complete disaster and our form is horrible. We play bad football right now. However this guy has provided us with FA Cup and League title. More than I could ever have dreamed really. Like you said, he has earned his credit. Do I think he is doing the right things right now? No. But he has PROVED that he can get things like this right. That is not guesswork or fantasy football or video game management; he has done it in the past.

We used to laugh at silly rags and later Chelsea "fans" who were completely spoiled and were screaming for managerial changes after every little misfortune. Lot of our own supporters have become the same or even worse. And amazingly there are still people like Piccs, and he isn't even the only one, who haven't let go of the Hughes sacking despite all that has happened afterwards. Goes to prove that all the talk about "Hughes lovers" (which was mostly as a wind up and I never even thought some City supporters REALLLY loved him) wasn't completely unfounded. Equivalent of strange Samaras and Dzeko fanboys. Credit to people who talked about stability back then and stability now. You have proven consistent and it may be time for apology from my part to putting these people in same category at the time with those weird Hughes lovers.

If we are to even talk about managerial changes it should be done after the season is over. And you need to have some other, realistic, names available. I admit that I wanted Hughes sacked for a long time (although at the time of the sacking I would've given him til the end of the season) but I had Mancini as my choice. He was available, interested and had the pedigree. If people want Mancini sacked then they need to have name who is available, interested and basically guaranteed to do better in long term. Let's be having you then.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I was never a Hughes lover at all. I was over it all in no time. With the resources we have the new manager was always going to have a better than even chance of success.

If you could only dream of two trophies before we ground to a halt that says a lot about you. Dream harder Niall.

And believe it or not NQDP, I find it amazing that there are people like you who fail to see how much better this all should be. Our away form over the last fourteen months now has not been that of Champions, the cloak of invincibility at home has been stripped away now too. This season has been pathetic so far. I don't recall a single person predicting the title race over by early Feb at the start of the season. And lets be honest is there any sign whatsoever that Mancini is going to turn this round, with this squad that now looks so bereft of ideas? No there isn't. Fourteen months is not a blip any more, it's the way things are. The blip was the six game run that somehow rescued the title.

The only thing missing from that rant Piccs was fuclin violin music.

How apt that Roger rhymes with dodger....You have still not answered the question posed by either Antti or I... WHO WOULD YOU REPLACE HIM WITH?

We can't leave the job vacant because you'd have nobody to sack next week. How was the lasagne?
