I think A. If we lose the title, but our players are giving everything, then I can just about cope with that (and I mean just). But losing the title and playing like they don't give a shit worries me. Not just now, but for the future. It screams uncertainty and I thought those days were behind us.

A). Only one team can win the league and even though it hurts more that it's them, they've won 21 out of 26 games so you'd have to say deserve it. But I still expect us to chase them down whilst we can. Once it's mathematically certain, I'd be happy to see the likes of Suarez or Guidetti play every week to give them valuable experience, providing it doesn't affect other things ie a top 3 finish.

But that performance was a shambles. On a par with Sven's last game and if they'd had a forward, the score line could have been similar. And that's what's annoying and worrying.

They weren't as good as us last season but nearly won it. They are better than us in attack this season & we have dropped our standards.

That being admitted, no way are they good enough that they should be winning 21 out of 26 games. The rest of the Premier League should be as upset as we are about this as they have all let themselves down allowing those cunts such an easy ride, just like we have.

they still have to win the games. I'm somewhat bored of the argument that teams lie down for them. Teams may "fear" them more based on reputation and history, etc, but....no manager puts a side out to lose points. Surely some have a focacta gameplan which is borne of desperation, but the arguments about "them" having it so easy aren't comforting me.

Let's face it...we fucking suck ass this season and are still in 2nd. Maybe Ross is right and the Prem is filled with parity that is dumbing it all down. Who knows. Does that fact make it more fun for the neutral/foreign/casual observer? Perhaps.

cheers

The truth may come out, but it looked more like there had been a problem before the game rather than after it. Whether there is any link to Tevez heading home again, time will tell.

I agree with that.

Now I've calmed down a bit this is exactly what I thought, I was putting the problem down to Mancini at the time but it could equally have been Tevez (or Mancini and Tevez). Probably pointless speculating until something comes out (if it comes out). That wasn't CITY playing at the weekend though, and that is really what pissed me off.

I reckon yesterday the referree allowed too many dirty tricks to the England scrummage before unfolding a yellow cards. It has affected Ireland hopes much more that O'Gara horrible performance. I counted more than a dozen side entrance in the maul from scrummers disjointed from the maul since a while.

it played a more important part that the Scotsmen free flying hands who prevented the italian forwards from delivering enough clear balls to the Half-backs.

Agreed, I'd could handle it if we were working hard and dropping points to teams that matched or bettered us, but we're not playing well, haven't played well all season and there hasn't been a stretch of this season where you can say, yes, our season has begun.

What are you looking for? The club to make a statement on a piss poor performance?

An official explanation would go a long way to why a performance like that happened and also what has actually happened off the pitch before and after the game.

The next 12 games are going to be interesting. Up until now I have been taking a Champions League place for granted. Its all sitting a bit uneasy with me now. Hopefully we will respond like we normally do when the press are on our back.

Why would you be expecting this? Have we ever had this official explanation after a defeat?

Ratboy just showed the 3rd goal on Sky & how Yaya Toure just watched as Southampton ran off away from him, with just poor ol GB legging it back protecting the defence on his own, & sticking the ball in his own net. At least he actually tried.

Ratboy says Toure had much more energy than that last season. I say he didn't, it's just that the team played better & people didn't notice what a lazy fucker he is when we lose the ball & need him to run back.

He should be counted as an attacking midfielder who defends a little bit, like silva, not someone who can be trusted to defend.

I have been giving examples of this for two years, but people, including Mancini, refuse to see it & make excuses.

What gives you the impression I'm happy?

Hearing all sorts from who? The tabloids?

We were complacent and got punished, as Piccs said above, this was coming. Individual quality got us out of jail this season on occasion but the collective will to win hasn't been there all season.

It's basically a load of quotes by Mancini, so I think it's safe enough to trust his part of it.

Hardly fantastic journalism. Hart wouldn't have played, Barry is knackered he needs a day off, nasri is shit and dzeko is a donkey, so it's easy to see how all of those will not play. A four year old could have written that.
