What was pretty clear in the two games we played them was they were terrified when we had the ball and went at them. In Spain, only Barca do that. Unfortunately, we were even more scared of them. Throw in an ageing Brazilian who can't defend against the world's he's left winger/forward and is. It any wonder we struggled.

At least away he realised and put Zabba on. In midfield. Leaving us 3 at the back against a team with so much width.

Not that he had a bad game or anything as he was out there to destroy and did a decent job with his knock the player over kind of defending.That seemed to happen a lot didn't it where he challenged and the opponent hit the deck and he got a bit lucky at times too.Plus he was ear marked to stop Ronaldo and in the first he was all over him and scored.In the 2nd half he went more right side and did disappear a lot.

He did the sort of job Allison had Nicky Reid doing for City & is no better as a player. That's actually better than most of the job Yaya has done in most European games & Garcia so far though.

Whatever our approach, and many have said we are abysmal, we are second in the Premier League, a league that I believe is the hardest to win. They have had helping hands, or the fortune of a touch here and there, and that's where we are.

I believe a team wins and loses as a team, owners, managers and players, they are all in it together. And that's where we proceed mate, recriminations come once the seasons finished, relegated or promoted, top of the league or bottom. Remember that mate ;-)

This season, right from pre season, it's like we have been part of an experiment; let's try this formation, that formation, rather than 'lets work better with what we have'. One of the first games this season, I arrived in City square & Platt was being interviewed & he publically failed to defend the pre season emphasis on 3 at the back, adding that Bob 'thought it was the way to go'. He indicated no support for it whatsoever.

I have no problem with that system at all just to be honest. I have a problem with over complicating things before we are ready. People go on about transfers etc & the club should have had a system in place fair enough, rather than hanging Marwood out to dry, but they obviously thought Soriano & Tricky were worth waiting for.

But we signed players for the back 3 experimental system imo. Had we got our 1st choices, we would still have concentrated on that, but with Martinez or DeRossi, rather than just a simple improvement on what we had & then moving on further in the future.

Ferguson didn't sign Kagawa & RVP & try to re invent what worked, he just put them in a team which keeps it simple.

We had a team, earlier than we thought possible, & we shook the rags up. With the same players & a focused pre season on doing what we know, we could have continued & improved imo.

We let our standards slip by trying to go for complicated tactical stuff rather than just working on what we do well & consolidating.

Some people talk as if we've been here for years, as if we should not have blips and should be playing Barca'esque type football every game. It may be one of our best finishes ever, but it's still (likely to be) a failure. We've generally been shit for most of our history, apart from a few years here and there where we've done well. Comparing the current team with the one Mel Machin etc had isn't really fair.

IF we were to finish within a few points of last year's total then we've probably done ok. It may not be enough to win the league, but that would be down to the rags having a fantastic/lucky season. If we're way down on last year and don't win the league, then it has to be a failure. Anything else is Arsenal syndrome.

I don't understand the fact that Utd can fuck off & are a PLC has to do with my post & I don't understand why playing like Barca is relevent to what I posted.

I am asking for us to play like City.
