I don't disagree at all, but the point i'm making is that we could have done exactly the same if we'd had same sensible approach. Real are not that good & neither are Dortmund for that matter.
Mancini played a football fucking manager computer game at the Bernabau. If he'd gone there with the same plan he went to the swamp last season, we may have still been in the Champions League now. A well organised side can get a result there. Ferguson just did what they can.
We have pissed this whole season away by farting about experimentally at the start rather than building on what we had. The rags are just doing exactly the same thing they did before but with Van persie.
It is pissing me off even more after seeing Real tonight.

Isn't it about time one of these cunts from Uefa or Fifa decided what the fucking rules of the game are ?
They have mate, it depends on the game.

Just listened to some TalkShite reviewing the game and the general opinion was Phil Jones fantastic.!! Am I missing something?
Not that he had a bad game or anything as he was out there to destroy and did a decent job with his knock the player over kind of defending. That seemed to happen a lot didn't it where he challenged and the opponent hit the deck and he got a bit lucky at times too.Plus he was ear marked to stop Ronaldo and in the first he was all over him and scored. In the 2nd half he went more right side and did disappear a lot.
But fantastic I didn't think he was.

Doug, for his level of playing football, he had a blinder. For any normal person he could easily have seen red ( 2x yellow) for the fouls he made.
keep on trucking united , it's going to be derailed soon !

Mate, I do understand where you are coming from and believe it or not I get completely pissed about what's going on. However, I also look at the changes that happened in the summer. We stood still mate, we didn't change it up as anticipated andwere left with basically the same first team that we ended with last season. Injuries made our situation worse and the late return of certain team members compounded the problem.
The anger persists because the Rags are doing so well, eventhough they've been well below par. The truth is though that they've been getting results, just like they did tonight, whereas one bad result for us escalates that problem. I put the fuckers aside.
Whatever our approach, and many have said we are abysmal, we are second in the Premier League, a league that I believe is the hardest to win. They have had helping hands, or the fortune of a touch here and there, and that's where we are.
I believe a team wins and loses as a team, owners, managers and players, they are all in it together. And that's where we proceed mate, recriminations come once the seasons finished, relegated or promoted, top of the league or bottom. Remember that mate ;-)

It's hard to win but loads of teams can come second. Second is a comfort zone which clubs & fans fall into. The rags don't & that's why they win so many. Liverpool used to be the same years ago. Once you let that attitude slip, you struggle to get it back.
This season, right from pre season, it's like we have been part of an experiment; let's try this formation, that formation, rather than 'lets work better with what we have'. One of the first games this season, I arrived in City square & Platt was being interviewed & he publically failed to defend the pre season emphasis on 3 at the back, adding that Bob 'thought it was the way to go'. He indicated no support for it whatsoever.
I have no problem with that system at all just to be honest. I have a problem with over complicating things before we are ready. People go on about transfers etc & the club should have had a system in place fair enough, rather than hanging Marwood out to dry, but they obviously thought Soriano & Tricky were worth waiting for.
But we signed players for the back 3 experimental system imo. Had we got our 1st choices, we would still have concentrated on that, but with Martinez or DeRossi, rather than just a simple improvement on what we had & then moving on further in the future.
Ferguson didn't sign Kagawa & RVP & try to re invent what worked, he just put them in a team which keeps it simple.
We had a team, earlier than we thought possible, & we shook the rags up. With the same players & a focused pre season on doing what we know, we could have continued & improved imo.
We let our standards slip by trying to go for complicated tactical stuff rather than just working on what we do well & consolidating.

An OK first half, whilst the 2nd one petered out. However to read some of the reports you'd think Brazil 1970 took on Hungary circa 1954 in what was a 4-4 classic.
As for Phil Jones, I hope Ferguson thinks he was absolutely ace and leaves him in Utds team for the next 10 years. Limited player, or as my friends up in Glasgow would call him a jobber. Wellbeck did well for Ushited but Rooney, as he does in many big games simply disappeared. That tie is very much alive and Real will score at the shitpit - I just hope they can score quite a few as the keeper looks woeful.
One final point - how does Van Persie, already on a yellow, escape a second yellow for deliberate handball?
MANCHESTER UNITED FANS USE REAL MADRID MATCH TO PROMOTE CLASS A DRUGS
Following the final whistle in tonight’s Champions League match between Real Madrid and Manchester United, the TV cameras showed this banner.
It reads: “MANCHESTER – MUFC – MDMA – BOTH MAGIC.”
Presumably a reference to the city’s ecstasy culture of the early 1990s or perhaps the owner of the banner’s personal love of both the drug and United. Either way, it seems like a bit of a strange message for a banner (and a guaranteed way to get yourself frisked on the way into the ground!).
