Good for you. If you want to base your internet persona on a man crush, go for it

For our main mindfielder, he offers no creativity which is what we desperately need and no speed. He doesnt even shoot. Id rather see lumpard playing than Barry if he does leave chelscum

So, if that's what we are lacking what does Yaya actually do then ?
We need two Yaya's perhaps, because Barry isn't creative enough?
How the fucking hell can it possibly be all his fault ? What are the rest of the midfield actually supposed to be doing ?
If Barry is supposed to be box to box, & create stuff, who has the job of sorting things out when the ball is with the oppo ?
Let's have names.

now now ted. We know that barry is a defensive midfielder, that is not the problem. the problem is we rely far too much on barry and like it or not he is our MAIN midfielder, regardless if he defensive or not, I am ware he is no box to box, it is blatantly obvious to anyone who watches him play.
all the balls go through him, regardless of what he is design to do. and more so this season we see us kicking the ball outside their box, even if they have set up to do that the balls up the pitch are far too slow and not creative. while barry obviously cant be blamed for all of this, majority of balls go through him. i'd like to see him attempt to shoot or pass the ball forward, rather than sidewards. yet he is 30 now and is getting even slower so I can't see that changing.
teh rest of the midfield? while silva is class, he obviously can't pull the strings on his own, yaya plays too deep but can get some good long balls (prefer him more forward) nasri is useless and we can't expect gacia to win games with a killer pass or going forward. so with milner and silva the only ones really delivering in that department, the balls are still going through and getting slowed down by barry.
so going off that, any city game this season will show you how much he gets involved with the ball, more than defensively. i wish he would off more, as the balls keep going to him, but he doesn't. while I commend him for his defensive work, I want more from the guy who everyone replies on and gives the ball to.
@original dub ? and what players would these be? i've never been a big fan of barry for the reasons i've mention already and have said previously so no idea what you're on about mate, jog on.

3 posts. One about glory-hunters, one calling Kompany a work-horse, and now one slagging off one of our best players for the last 2 years. Interesting....

I think there should be a history site where people can go and understand where we came from to where we are now. People joining late, and I have no problem with them, should have to take a test before even thinking about being a City fan.
Question 1: Who is the Invisible Man?

So the answer to the question I asked which was:
'If Barry is supposed to be box to box, & create stuff, who has the job of sorting things out when the ball is with the oppo ?'
Is: nobody ?
Barry is supposed to do Yaya's running, be a deep lying playmaker & also do all the covering defensively. In other words: more than everybody else.
And Barry will happily give the ball to Yaya, Silva, Nasri and any other fucker who wants it IMMEDIATELY if they can be arsed to come & receive it, like Barca's players do. So will Lescott or Vinny or Nasti for that matter if they give them the option.
