We all played well because Zab's was returned to captain? That very simplistic mate and shouldn't have affected the full team.

There was something more major than that and I'm hoping it's all been settled.

Firstly, my point was not that we played better because Zab was captain, but that there was something in AG7's observation that something wasn't quite right insofar as Yaya was captain ahead of him for the Southampton game. As to you latter point, any chance of a pm?

No need to apologise, you daft fucker ;-) Seems I was a bit brusque in my response (and ignored the question-mark). Thing is, I wasn't sure what AG7 was getting at, but I now reckon he was on to something. Cue 'Twilight Zone' theme tune.

If no one else was effected, Zaba surely was in the game against Saints ... How often do we see him having an off day, and then I guess it's just human nature ... he was side stepped and Yaya given the arm band when he had been doing a fantastic job of leading for us in past games when Kompany went missing ... Wasn't this mentioned by many on here that we were missing a leader on the pitch, someone to tell the players to pull up and pull together ... I actually put Zaba's off day down to this and now the fact that a change of captain was made, something must have been talked about in the camp, otherwise why didn't Mancini simply let Yaya continue with the armband ...

Never realised he'd made Yaya captain for the Southampton match. Incredibly out of touch decision.

Doubt that was the main problem but it could have been one of many small ones which added together to create the shambles we saw last week.

Much changed attitude v Leeds; more belief & purpose, but we will see if it's a genuine change when we play Chelsea; Leeds offered absolutely no threat whatsoever & it makes life much easier when you have nothing to worry about.

If there is to be even a 1 in a 100 chance of us giving the rags a title scare, we are going to have to reproduce that attitude at the swamp, Goodison & White Hart Lane.

It seemed harsh at the time that Zaba lost the armband to Yaya for Southampton, but I assumed that Yaya was vice-captain and therefore should have it in Vince's absence. So no more a snub than Zaba having to give it back to Vince once he's fit.

But for Zaba to back as captain against Leeds when Yaya started was odd. Either one of them is vice-captain or no one is. If no-one then the snub the previous weeks was a man-management blunder. Hopefully it's one that's been resolved.

There's another possibility - that Yaya was vice captain but has been stripped of it for his lack of leadership in that game...

On the grounds he never even gets taken off, I doubt he'd get stripped of it. He was also happy as Larry when he scored, whereas I'd have expected a Mario type sulk if he'd been snubbed.

God knows what happened at Southampton but let's hope it was the turning point. Win every game between now and the end of the season and, as a minimum, we win the FA Cup and guarantee second. And I think it could be better than that.
