Something has been bugging me since the start of the Southampton game ... not sure if anyone also got annoyed by this. Why was Yaya given the captain's armband for the game? He was slotted right back in, much have been debated he shouldn't have been, he had a shit game but I questioned this when he led the line-up out ... Fine, Kompany was injured but then Zaba was playing and Zaba has captained us in previous games when Kompany is not available. Why does Mancini lick Yaya's black balls so much?? The body language didn't seem right of the players walking out and when they showed them in tunnel. Yaya's body language there was pretty arrogant as he moved past our players and lined up in front ... and I couldn't help but notice Zaba was looking down as if ashamed or trying not to show his face on any camera. Could this have been the reason our team was not so much a team early on and then it all went downhill there on ... maybe I am reading too much into this, but it sure as hell annoyed me.

Looks like there might well be something to what you thought. Zab was restored to the captaincy today....

Never realised he'd made Yaya captain for the Southampton match. Incredibly out of touch decision.

Doubt that was the main problem but it could have been one of many small ones which added together to create the shambles we saw last week.

Much changed attitude v Leeds; more belief & purpose, but we will see if it's a genuine change when we play Chelsea; Leeds offered absolutely no threat whatsoever & it makes life much easier when you have nothing to worry about.

If there is to be even a 1 in a 100 chance of us giving the rags a title scare, we are going to have to reproduce that attitude at the swamp, Goodison & White Hart Lane.

On the grounds he never even gets taken off, I doubt he'd get stripped of it. He was also happy as Larry when he scored, whereas I'd have expected a Mario type sulk if he'd been snubbed.

God knows what happened at Southampton but let's hope it was the turning point. Win every game between now and the end of the season and, as a minimum, we win the FA Cup and guarantee second. And I think it could be better than that.
