His issue with Chelsea was that he has said he won't consider a 1 yr deal, and Chelsea won't offer longer.

Offering that with an option for a 2nd is not going to bring him to city, and I seriously doubt city would offer 2/3 yrs hence he won't be coming, even though I think he could do a job next season

A Scouse club would be the ideal option for him. They'd be in a position to offer him what he wants. If he wants to stay in the big town, I'd have a lot of respect for him if he went back to the Hammers.

Unless he wants to be closer to Belfast. He's got the option of easyjet or flybe from Manchester.

I've watched him a fair bit this year and reckon that, while he does still carry a goal threat, the game does seem to pass him by for long periods. You'd never have said that about 2008 Frank Lampard. His statistics make him look pretty indispensable to Chelsea because they've been poor at times and needed a hero.

I wouldn't be upset if we signed him but I wouldn't expect him to have too big an impact.

I don't believe that at all. Lampard was marginalised by AVB wrongly in my opinion but he is a top class professional who would get his head down and work hard to prove someone wrong rather than cause dressing room issues. John Terry, Drogba etc strike me as more the type of characters who would cause problems for a young manager like Villas Boas.

Obviously Drogba was hugely influential but so was Lampard, especially in the ties against Barcelona and in the final versus Bayern Munich. Lampard provided the assist for Ramires chipped goal agst Barca in the Nou Camp.

City do not have hopes with rodwell and Sinclair. Sinclair can't get a game and rodwell can't perform at all. Given plenty of chances before his injury and showed how useless he is. Rather have fat boy Lampard than him.

City do not have hopes with rodwell and Sinclair. Sinclair can't get a game and rodwell can't perform at all. Given plenty of chances before his injury and showed how useless he is. Rather have fat boy Lampard than him.

The bottom line of the Rodwell/Sinclair future is whether City will be happy to write off the cost (if they can't sell on and recoup it) or whether we will have the patience to try and seek improvement.

Cant agree mate ,sorry. I believe Lampard is part of the clique player power that rules Chelsea FC and the same player power that has seen off many class managers at that club.He is also too old and too fat , his workrate is also piss poor . He is also shite for England. He did however have a good season in my fantasy football team about 3 years ago ......
