http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/20 ... es-created

This week we look at the players who selflessly create opportunities for others.

This is not the assist list – obviously – because these chances weren’t necessarily converted, but it gives a good indication of where the Blues’ creative genius lies...

1 David Silva - 76

Yes, had the Blues converted every chance the Spanish magician had created we’d have been 76 goals better off! This list gives a better indication of an individual’s contribution to the team and few could argue Silva’s is immense based on these stats!

2 Carlos Tevez -55

Carlos Tevez hasn’t quite set the scoring charts on fire this season but he has set-up 55 chances so far this season which is easily the best of the striking trio currently at the Club. Tevez is at the heart of many of City’s intricate passing moves and, as with Silva, this figure underlines his importance to the team - especially as he's already topped two previous lists for shots and assists!

3 Gareth Barry - 37

Considering Barry's role in the team is to protect the back four and defend from midfield, 37 chances created is a superb contribution. He may not trouble the scoring columns too often, but the consummate team man is more than happy to make chances for everyone else.

Barry is a top player in the comfort of the Premier League, he does get exposed against top teams who we have to be honest have a little bit extra. My fav player at times and does a thankless task with rover-yaya at times along with Merlin doing his jog back defending.

If you put your mate Javi Martinez on his own v any kind of quality quick player, he gets left for dead 9 times out of 10. With Barry it's about 5 times out of ten. Both of them eventually get tired when asked to do that job (Matinez about 30 mins before barry) & are then even less likely to stop such runs.

The key is to have a balanced team so as not to leave them exposed to it. Bayern do. We don't.

Barry could have played for any of the teams we have just seen in the Champions League including the rags, & looked fine, apart from Arsenal, where he would have looked shite.

Leave it Ted I was waiting for you on Tues night, when he ran Cazorla down in a race, robbed him and eased the ball to his mate. Milan have no pace in MF they have seasoned pros who know the role, Back to Javi, my mate how do you miss it Del Bosque in an era, never seen in the history of the game for quality MF's from one country he gets in. No 1 PICK Busq was shut down last night, Spain will note that, he flourished and was not replaced as Kroos was, Fact is he has been brave, He left a culture which he knew Basque, where a move to Barca or RM was nailed on this year if he wanted to sit it out as Llorrente has, No he has moved to Munich that is brave and whatever you say and done the decent thing by Bilbao, Rudd Guillit, summed it up when he said it was men against boys, and he meant Bastian S AND J Martinez, with Kroos becoming free final point look back at the KO he takes the ball steps inside two players and from there on in did his job. Mancini saw it Ferguson saw it The special one and Barca wanted him and for me and everyone else we saw why.Yes 10 mill over the top not his doing. And he will be a centre half in a few years. Similar track to VK, who has more pace where Martinez is better on the ball. The only player in trouble at BM with Pep, coming in is the keeper, he needs to be an extra outfield player on the ball or he will be not required, read Graham Hunters book, Valdes. was told quick feet pass it out and play sweeper/Keeper or UR GONE. He gets a job because he's a big unit who is an ok footballer. He is told to do a particular job & does it, like Barry, but if he has to run about a lot & be constantly putting out fires, like Barry does, his legs go & he is shite. Barry is the same, but in Barry's case it's usually caused by too many games on a run. In Martinez' case it can happen after an hour or so of a game & it's probably because he's a big unit & just can't do it. For Bayern, or Spain, he will rarely have to.

He wasn't great v Arsenal at all, he lost possession several times in his own half, but he was playing in a TEAM & that team was superbly well drilled & worked very hard in the key areas, so when he or anyone else fucked up, there were several players covering.

Arsenal are not a team & are poorly organised but they still had more possession etc. Plenty of their players could have played in Bayern's system quite easily though. Bayern are much much better coached than Arsenal, & sadly, City too.

There's not much point in telling me how many marks out of 10 Sky give a player btw or what most of their people think. Apart from GN I rarely agree with anything any of them say, ever.

I particularly set out to study JM that night & would have held my hands up if he was brilliant. He was average. The team he was playing in however, were superb, but imo many of their players are not superb, just one or two. As a unit they would win the Premier League but most of their players, including Martinez, would not improve us or the rags or Chelsea.

The coaches at Bayern are getting the best from their players. So is Ferguson from his. Mancini, Wenger & Benitez aren't.

Imo, GB, in a system like we saw with Bayern, playing next to Pigfucker with all the forwards chasing & harassing the oppo allowing him to just pick off loose balls & make the odd tackle or header, would find it very very easy.

I think he would make an excellent coach. He clearly thinks about the game a lot on the pitch.

What the fuck do you keep bringing up Spain for ?

Have I mentioned Spain at all ?

Ramos plays for Real Madrid, Busquets plays for Barca & Javi Martinez plays for Bayern fucking Munich.

Would I like to sign them for the Premier League ? No. What the fucking hell that has to do with the Spanish National team, I'm buggered if I know. If I was talking about International football, I would have Ramos, possibly Busquets but not Martinez in the England team. But I'm not. I don't want any of them for City & you can add Piquet to that list.

The Premier League has very little in common with international or Spanish football & no team in England keeps possession like Spain or Barca, so comparing like for like is impossible.

Yaya Toure is a fucking liability defensively in the Prem. For Barca, he was a rock in defensive midfield. Miles better than Martinez has ever been for any of the teams he's played for.

It is different.
