He also missed a penalty for City when Aguero was being held back by the two arms of a defender wrapped around his arm as the ball was incoming from the right side. It was a clean game and yet there were multiple yellow cards handed out. I think he will have some explaining to do if this game is reviewed.

mister marriner's actions need some investigation. This was not a ref applying the same rules to both teams. I do not believe any referee with no axe to grind would ever book anyone for what Rodwell did.

Sorry Tokyo but I think you have been living abroad too long and the forriner's culture has rubbed off. We are English and we don't cheat at sport.
It's only the forriners that take drugs in cycling, dive in the penalty area, fix cricket matches, bribe FIFA to get the World Cup etc. Our referees are all beyond reproach, we know this because our "beyond reproach FA tell us...and they wouldn't lie to us.

These bloody cheating forriners deserve a good ticking off.

With Marriner, was all just an innocent misunderstanding and can be best sorted over tea and crumpets, innocently wrapped in a brown plain envelope.... "Andre"...that's a forrin name innit?
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Thought it looked a dive while I was there and seeing replays of the incident, it proved even worse than I originally thought. shocking the way players cheat these days, and even more worrying that anybody believes that was a good decision.

He was always going to give it after the angle Joe took (and no it wasn't Joe's fault, he had to try and clear the danger and get to the ball) - from the ref's point of view there would have been contact whether he threw his leg back towards Joe or not, so even though the player made a meal of it, it was still a penalty (and I think he was lenient towards us in not giving a card because of their player's amateur dramatics). The real story is in the number of times he stopped us to award a foul to the opposition.

You don't give one, another one, another & another for one team & then ignore the same foul because a player doesn't dive & wave at you.

Utterly, wrong & very questionable reffing imo.

A bit worrying.

It's been more than worrying for a long time now Ted. I said it again to my rag mate recently, if we had similar referee performances this season, the rags would be maybe 6 points ahead. Last season we would have finished at least 10 points ahead.

To think they are some right fucktards on this site that don't notice that refs have far more "poor performances" with us than they do with the rags.

At this stage. After all they have witnessed particularly in the last two years. It's crazy. The only explanation I can come up with is that the media machine is working wonders on them.

Or maybe I'm imagining media bias too?

Or maybe some of us don't watch the cunts that often so we don't see this blatent favouritism that they get.

I think it's pretty safe to say if you don't research a subject you should steer clear of it. So I have no problem with you abstaining on this vote.

I watched the game on delay after reading this thread. In the first half we should have got one extra free kick. I thought they got two free kicks they should have and one they didn't.

We fouled them a lot and the ref correctly blew them up. It's a part of how we play. We are aggressive in our play and try to get the ball to create a turnover in broken play. Chelsea couldn't catch us to foul us. Simple.

Mountain out of a molehill. Yes he favoured Chelsea with the calls, but only slightly.

Girl. We shouldn't even be givena freekick.

There were at least 4 blatant dives and none got called as such, all went against us. I'm still disgusted.

My uncle Jim used to say "its a cabal, Davy". It explained everything, from the cold weather in Glasgow to the early start for postmen, to the failure of the middle east peace process. So I expect he could have fitted Andrew Mariner in somewhere, lol. My view is that when we were all kicking a ball around a pitch and learning about the game most referees were dressing up as......referees
