Celebrating the goal at the corner flag

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Celebrating the goal at the corner flag

Postby Cocacolajojo1 » Mon Feb 25, 2013 2:30 pm

So

What's up with that? Why do they always run to the corner flag after they score a goal, the football players I mean? Ok, they don't run there all time but most of the time. And they run there with their team mates chasing after. If you watch football with someone who doesn't watch football on a regular basis, it can look pretty weird to them. Are they running to the corner flag because they don't want to be hugged?

And why did Tevez kiss Milner on the forehead? I'm confused.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Why not run to the corner? Its a better option than the centre circle.

I think they should all congregate on the 37 yard line and then commence to celebrate.

I approve of this. It would not confuse me.

The cameras by the corner flags are the closest ones.
They are all attention whores.

Haha I love when a lower leauge defender scores and, when the ground has no north/south stands runs and celebrates in front of the main stand. It looks so odd.

Enjoyed Berbativ jumping on Jol Saturday though. More players should do that.

Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

You want more players to jump on Martin Jol? Could be quite a long-winded affair, but fair enough I guess. As long as the cameras track the celebration in whole.

I imagine he'd get quite scared, especially if it was, for instance, in the car park late at night, or when he was having a lobster dinner.

Would be a bit disrespectful if the player had just scored against Fulham, funny though

Its a disgrace this is happening. I would much rather see the entire team sitting on the 'D' and doing Ooops Up Side Your Head!

I also approve of this. Wrestling the opposition's manager is also an acceptable way of celebrating a goal.

The line is like a barrier, ruled off by the FA. It's the double hard bastards who make it across.

As for Carlos kissing Milner, they (he) obviously had issues before. Loose lips......

It should be a topical celebration. The whole team should all run into the oppositions net and do the harlem shake for 30 seconds and then walk away to the centre circle like nothing happened.
