£50m - One Player - Which One?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

£50m - One Player - Which One?

Postby AG7 » Tue Feb 26, 2013 12:12 am

All signs point to us signing a big ticket player this summer ... Here's the top 5 names, some linked to us and some well, not yet (one really).

1. Cavani
2. Falcao
3. Neymar
4. Suarez
5. Bale

Each would cost anywhere between £40-50m (unless someone decides to accept Nasri or Dzeko as part of a swap) ... at which rate we will probably only get one of the five above ... which would you like to see wearing Blue?

I was a big Cavani fan, but after tonight's performance and given he has proven PL record, I'm switching to Bale.

He has to keep up his 'start one new thread a day' rule.

On current form and because he's used to the Prem, it has to be Bale for me as well.

Bob has said Neymar isn't a PL player (thank God), so I don't see him as being on that list.

Imo, we need more than one player.

If I had to pick one from that list it would be Bale, because we already have strikers who won a title , plus Guidetti & some kids coming through, wheras we lack pace, crossing, shooting & free kicks, all of which Bale brings.

I do think we should 'freshen up' the strikers as well though (and I don't think we have a hope of signing Bale).

Out of the likely possible players on that list, Falcao would be my choice & I think he is possibly the most likely, due to our previous dealings with his present club.

I would actually prefer to sign none of them & sign some new talent though.

I still think our main priority should be a world class centre-back.

I'm reluctant to suggest anyone, however, for various reasons......

He's pretty good as a striker. Can be pants in midfield though. Maybe he's been played in the wrong place all these years, and AVB is a genius? Playing off the (alleged) front man Adebayor suits him.

As for £50M I think those days will fast disappear under FFP. Clubs that need big transfer income will suffer.

Bale or suarez..both proven winners in the prem and we would improve 100% ..the rest are gambles.

Suarez is everything thats wrong with football rolled into one little man/chipmunk, he's an absolute slimeball #cheat #diver #vile #scumbag. Not for me.

£50 fucking million for Bale because? he's quick,he's fast and he's got pace? lol

sums up why English football is dire internationally, as long as meeja and fans act like clowns rate pace, strength etc over technique, vision and brains we're doomed, you can get the like of Michu, Papi Cisse and more for a fraction..
