No one is suggesting replacing him.

The question was simply Bobby and Bacon aside who is the best manager in the prem?

He's gone on record saying he'll never manage in England. I don't get the clamour anyway, yes he did fantastically well the last two seasons domestically but has he ever done it in Europe prior to this season? Dortmund put a big effort into CL this year following their dismal performance last season, where like City this year they got just 3 points in group stage, but they've done that at the expense of their league title where they trail Bayern by 17 points. I'm not sure Klopp would fare any better than Mancini.

As for Prem manager, not a single one of them appeals.

So they threw away the title at the expense of CL success? We threw away the title and finished bottom in the same group!

Not quite as spectacularly as they did though eh? Anyway, my point is that Klopp has shown me nothing to suggest he'd do any better than Mancini.

really?
so you think he wouldn't have won something is speculation - perhaps you are right
but you can speculate that he would have won something managing those teams (he wouldn't have by the way) but I can't do the same thing the other way round
I see.

Although I don't want it to happen, I would be interested in a parallel universe that sacks Mancini and gives Benitez 2 years to strut his stuff with our team. I really have no idea if he's up to it but I'm intrigued to see what he could do with our squad.

He has been successful in the past, it can't have been a fluke, can it?

Oh, and I reckon about 11 managers could win stuff with our squad. Bacon, AVB, Moyes, Wenger, Rodgers, Pardew, Laudrup, Martinez, O'Neill, Jol, even Big Sam.

It's all about the opportunity.

You're basically saying it doesn't matter about the manager and it's all about the players.

Let's get BFS in. He can build a game around a new tactic where we play for free-kicks. Patilimon - promoted to being a guaranteed starter in an outfield position - will stand in front of their goalkeeper. Statistically, with Panty being the tallest man in the world, it will be impossible for the opposition keeper to see. He can then time his run perfectly to be beyond the byline and thus not interfering with play at the moment Kolarov connects with the ball. Worst case scenario, the ball bobbles around the area and the 8 other meatheads we've chosen to play out of goal can force the entire opposition team over the line in a ruck while Kolarov catches up and twats the ball into the onion bag.

Lineup:

-------------------------Ian Walker

Richards-----Kompany-----Hart---Nastasic---Lescott -----Kolarov

------------------------García---Barry

-------------------------Kevin Nolan (c)

--------------------------Pantilimon

Laudrup has won things before. Lots in fact. He has a winning record at a club with resources (Brondby) and where he has had little cash (Getafe and Swansea) What he has achieved in winning Swansea's first ever major trophy should not be underestimated.
In reality, as long as the Sheiks resources remain the club will enjoy success. The manager will influence the style in which they go about.
Laudrup would be an exciting appointment and I wouldn't be sorry to see Martinez in charge. Both conduct themselves well and put teams out that try and play entertaining football.

Managers who have won the premier league title and the FA cup dont manage at clubs like Swansea and Wigan.

Managers who have won the premier league title and the FA cup with a club in a very short period of time are as rare as rocking horse shit !

Laudrup and Martinez are both quality young premier league managers but would either be able to manage superstar players with huge ego,s earning huge money at a huge club ?

Lastly Bobby Manc has every right to claim he is the best manager in the premier league ...... his record in the last 3 years proves this !
Not really here

YOU FINALLY DID IT...You convinced me Mate....How could we possibly compare the "LOTS IN FACT" that Laudrup has won against the might of Danish Football...(1 League Title and 3 Cup wins), As well as our underestimated League Cup, against the paucity of success and much over estimated record of Mancini...(3 Serie A Titles, 3 Coppa Italias, 1 Supercoppa, 1 FA Cup, 1 Premier league title and a Community Shield).

Viva La Revolution...Mancini out! Tomorrow we march on the Etihad...Laudrup IN!!!!!
PS...Just so I am clear, when we get Laudrup in, who do we want as his replacement the following week? I think it's always best to plan ahead....:-)
PPS...Can I make it clear before the revolution starts that the waving of red flags is a defo no go for me...:-)

Mr 68. How very trite. When he went to Brondby they were at a low ebb and he revived the club. It is not unfair to say that he has massively over achieved at Brondby, Getafe and Swansea. And he has done it all with teams playing with panache and style. Wouldn't that be lovely at our club? And it seems he is good enough for Madrid but not Manchester City supporters. Mark my words he is in line for a big job now, but you know best.
