And you're calling them places 'shitholes' ;-)

I lived in Hulme for two years and it was nice. It'd be even nicer if they'd finally develop that land on the left-hand side of Stretford Road after you cross the arch. I lived where Longsight, Victoria Park and Levenshulme converge for a year and it was miles more of a shithole.

People who cite Hulme as one of the worst areas to live really don't know Manchester. Plus you have to nail a Buzzrocks goat curry before you die.

I believe Speer was the only nazi who got off at Nuremberg. I suppose there's only so much an architect can be held responsible for but then again it might be that he was the only one who was contrite or at least showed contrition. Julius Streicher (good name for a nazi forward) did not and was dancing to mister Pierpoint's tune shortly after.

Incidentally LS Lowry was a blue, does any one know what Pierpoint's colours were?

Wasn't Speer in Spandau?

No, that was Tony Hadley.

I'm also not afraid to say that I give not one shit about Giggs, his brother, his wife, his brother's wife, that other Welsh bird off reality TV or anyone else he's thrown it up.

Next.

The problem with hulme though is all the scrubbers from the local council estates and people from longsight like to visit hulme. I remember a group of lads from longsight/moss side hanging around the cash machine at the asda forcing people who used it to empty their bank accounts, this was in then late afternoon evening and they were doing it for hours.

I see the Rag PR machine went into overdrive over Young Wilson but then don't have him in the squad. I wonder how much Giggs memorabilia has been pimped out today at the swamp?

I'm just wondering if they couldn't get his clone to give blood early enough; the vampire didn't get his fix.

Agree about Hulme. For my money Cheetham Hill and Beswick would be up there as place to not fancy selling encyclopaedias door to door. Oh and Levenshulme

At least hulme has personality. Great architecture and good food. Stretford on the other hand is a bad seventies shopping mall, a metro station and some traffic lights. You might not get stabbed, but you will die of boredom.

Probably will get stabbed tbh. Would be extremely surprised if Stretford's violent crime figures aren't higher than Hulme's.

Like Alioune, I've lived in Hulme and it was a really nice place to live.

It's either a lesson why you shouldn't celebrate anything until it has actually happened or it was a clear demonstration that the media just can't get enough of the rags and will gloriously publicly wank themselves off if they *shudder* win the title & god forbid anything else
