Very few players in world football have as much drive mixed with genuine class. Suarez is the closest that we may be able to get and he's a far bigger cunt.

Every team could do with a tevez on the pitch. As long as that's possible, I'm all for it.

That's pretty well what I was going to say.He might not be quite as sharp or fast as he once was but he is still a threat to any team any time.He isn't all about scoring goals although he will score his fair share but he brings energy to the team that is so important. For me in the first 30 minutes last night he was almost the only player really at it in a forward sense.

Alledgedly he is happy at City now and I can easily see him being of real value to us next season as a number 3 striker or maybe even one of 4 depending on who we bring in.

He's the opposite to Nasri; always looking for a forward pass, a shot, a cross, a forward dribble. If Nasri is supposed to be an attacking mid, well Tevez is already miles better than him & is actually not far off Silva in that role. With the right blend of players around him, he could go on for five years or more. He is adapting his game already & also starting to score goals again.

Imo he will sign a new contract if it is offered.

I hope so. I found it amazing re Nasri after what has been said in the last 10 days that he came on last night and looked like he was recuperating from a long illness.

I don't know what is going on with him. I thought perhaps he may respond to Bob's challenge & be electric, but his response was to play most passes backwards or sideways. I would rather have seen one of the kids come on, or even that bloke we signed from Swansea.

Was he not under instruction to do this? Retain/recycle possession to take the sting out of Villa and run the clock down. That's how it looked to me.

Nasri plays like that every week. It was the exact same performance, same first touch, semi circle, pass backwards/sideways or run through the middle, look up...turn sideways, & finallly the 'smack the ball aimlessly into the side netting' moment when he does deem to do something more.

There is no-one in the world quite like Tevez, I don't want him at City but he has gotta be just about impossible to replace. I'd say the year extension and we'll see in 18 months.

I'm no Nasri fan but I thought getting hold of the ball and keeping it was exactly what we needed at that stage in the game and he provided it, job's a good 'un.

i'd prefer to sell him at the end of the season rather than him run out the rest of his contract. apparently mancini is determined to sign another striker, so why not make some money off tevez.

is that nasri's job though? shouldn't be creating chances and scoring now and then?

this is exactly what he does week in and out when he plays. he chases the ball in that circle because he can't beat ANY one, it is his headless chicken routine.

Trying to hold the ball for 20 mins at 1-0 is not a sensible way to play football imo & I doubt that was Mancini's instruction to Nasri.

I thought it was obvious that it was his instruction. We had got caught a couple of times before that overcommitting on the break. I thought Mancini saw this and sent Nasri on with instruction to prevent it happening. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Nasri was told to be disciplined. He did that ok, for me though he has a look of can I leave please.

How do you prevent that happening by being on the edge of the opponent's penalty area then passing backwards when players are in attack formation & not picking up, or shooting into the side netting, or passing backwards so the ball ends up with our defenders or keeper hoofing it back to Aston villa & them getting corner kicks/pens at the other end, which is what happened ?

If that's Mancini's idea then he's a waste of space as well.

He is still a good player but for us to pay him 250 k per week for another year and then lose him for nothing is completely irresponsible, the same applies to offering him another contract for the same money - he has to be sold and replaced with someone younger and hungrier.

Transfer fee would be so low now that you have to ask the question whether there are many players of Tevez' quality available for what we could get for him, or whether he is worth more to us as a City player.

Imo he is worth more to us this season than most other players in the squad.

He will cost us 13 million plus in wages - if we get 5 million then altogether it makes up a huge chunk of change to get someone else in.
Id take anyone of the players(Higuain , Cavani etc) we have been linked to, to replace him.
