Regardless of its quality, tt only took me 7 months to finally get even ;). Now THAT'S quality.

We're always good,you know that.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

But looking at it from a slightly different dimension - the "best" league is surely the most competitive? I'm going to use the completely scientific method of determining "competivity" by dividing the number of draws (which = equality) divided by number of games played, to give us the definitive ranking of "best" league (lower number is better):

Portugal = Every 3.34 games is a draw, and therefore "competitive".
France = 3.37
England = 3.52
Nederland = 3.62
Germany = 3.77
Italy = 4.25
Spain = 4.91
Russia = 5.42

So there you have it, the best league to watch in Europe is portugal, with england not far behind and russia and spain beng shit.

Actually, as i was doing that, i noticed that as far as most competitive leagues go, by a number of criteria, that isn't far off the mark. However, i decided to throw Scotland into the mix, and they would win by a mile with 3.04, despite celtic being ahead by 5 wins, so my meffodology may be flawed.

Portuguese league a closed shop to porto benfica and sporting, Arjan...boavista one title win i think
Maybe belenenses once as well but so few sides winning a league in all those years does show a flaw in themethod sorrymate

You didn't read it properly mate - i used the terms ""completely scientific" and "definitve". You can't argue with facts.

But to use the method suggested by you, number of different winners, produces this:

France - 9
Russia - 6
Germany - 6
Nederland - 5
Italy - 5
Spain - 5
England - 5
Portugal - 4

So there you have it - conclusive proof once and for all that France has the most competitive league.

Although i think if we give coca a strict deadline and some research funding, he can explore his theories in detail (although this will inevitably lead to agreement with me that both France and Portugal have the very best leagues in europe).

OShea is there purely because sunderland have nobody I wanted, plus he has played all back 4 positions & midfield, & could be drafted in case an outbreak of bubonic plague hit half the team & we needed a draw.

I like your team and squad, but OAP are relegation fodder and their players are therefore ineligible. As for Ted's team, Lukaku would have to be of the Chelsea quota, otherwise he'd have made my squad too.

Who are OAP? Is typo for QPR? i think samba is a beast more than good enough for the squad, reading and wigan missing out for me although al habsi nearly made it but would of made it impossible to pick a Stoke player as their all rubbish!

One of the rare good topics here recently. I've been enjoing this one.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

The least you could do then is humour the op and submit a squad ;)

I may even provide a critical analysis of your selection if you do.
